no.6These books were written by Ron Goulart. There are six of these original Vampirella books,
and they cover a lot of the stories as found in the original Warren comics. There is a little more detail
in the books that expands on the story lines in the comics. The origin, in the book Bloodstalk (book #1)
tells us of the secret NASA mission sent off to planet Drakulon under the shroud of a mission to the
moon. It was during that ill fated mission that astronauts landed on Drakulon, and found a dyeing world.
A world once rich with life where it's population bent down by rivers to drink of the life giving blood.
For whatever reason, The rivers started to dry up. The planet was dyeing. By the time the Earth mission
landed on Drakulon, the planet was all but dead, as were most all of it's inhabitants.
The crew members died on Drakulon, but their space ship made it back to earth. It crashed in a remote
New England forest and was empty save for a single alien traveler. A girl who had flown on alien
wings, the last of her race. The Vampyr. She had found new rivers of blood coursing through the
veins of the inhabitants of this new world. Earth people Would call her vampire, sharpen their
stakes and mark her for death. But she would live. She was the huntress from the stars.
