Explanation of this clade
Please note that all references to the old terminology for this group have been changed here to
say G2a.  Some other locations on the Internet may still use the old term, G2.

So far all the members of this clade are English or have Anglicized surnames.   This pattern may or may
not persist with additional samples.

One member of the clade has been determined by the Garvey project as the subtype of G2a that is
U8+ and U13+    All the other members of the clade are surely the same.  It is not certain presently
when this clade developed within the overall group of U13+ persons.

Persons probably belonging to this clade    May 2007 update
............confirmed members with 37 markers listed on the graph above are in bold
.....................those with fewer than 37 markers who only seem to belong to the clade are in plain type

who list origins in England

Bentley #1  The 6 Bentleys have very similar haplotypes.  They will be listed here without matching
the ones in Y-Search to their G Project equivalents:
        In Y-Search:  TC36X  ZMW2E  A7SK4  S2URC
        In G Project:  39798  31195  33190  30611  34448
Y-134 in Garvey project and confirmed as G2a with U8+ and U13+
Austin  K8TYN in Y-Search.  Apparently not in G Project.  Unclear whether confirmed as G or only
               predicted.
Sargent  J8CRW in Y-Search.  Apparently not in G Project.  Unclear whether confirmed or predicted
as G.  His DYS389-2 marker is off by 1 value from the typical values, but the slow markers
all match at a few unusual values.

whose origins in the Old World are undetermined or unlisted

 Barton # 4   DSA8Q in Y-Search.   41194 in G Project.  Only predicted as G.
Barton # 1  8VRAU in Y-Search.  Apparently not in G Project.  Unclear whether confirmed as G or only predicted

Dell  76UB5 in Y-Search.  Apparently not in G Project.  Only has 32 markers, but these are adequate
to establish him as part of this clade.  Unclear whether confirmed as G or only predicted.
