Return to Main Discussion of G Clades

Please note that all references to the old terminology for G subgroups have been changed here to
reflect tentative new G subgroup classifications.  Link here to a discussion of this.   Some locations
on the Internet may be using the old terminology.

When persons do not cluster on the diagram, they tend to move around.  The positions on the
chart of the persons below will not be displayed here because the placement tends to mislead the
viewer into thinking there is some relationship to nearby persons.

Persons in bold type have 37 or more markers tested.

unclear whether tested further.  Lists French origins.
French # 5  DN3SE in Y-Search.  13919 in G Project.  Lab makes no prediction as to G status.
Lists only American origin.  [The lab status listed is puzzling because he indicated to me that
the lab confirmed him as G2a, but not G2a1 and G2a2.  Tested at another lab??]
French # 7  zdarm in Y-Search.  14781 in G Project.  Confirmed as G2a by lab, but unclear whether
              tested further.  Lists English origins.
The two Frenchs have almost identical 67 markers.  They should be distinguished from another
group of Frenchs who are not closely related to them.
Gallegos  98WGF in Y-Search.  Apparently not in G Project.  Unclear whether predicted or confirmed
as G.  Lists origins in Spain.  Though has DYS388=13 and has features of clade # 2,
he fails to closely match anyone in the clade.  His 12 markers match several other Hispanic men.
Galloni  PSF6M in Y-Search.  Apparently not in G Project.  Unclear whether confirmed or predicted as
              G.  Lists Italian origins.
Gardner # 1  6HHBS in Y-Search  730867 in G Project.  Only predicted as G by the lab.
              Lists French origins

confirmed as G.   Lists French Canadian origins.
The 25 markers of the two Gardners are exact matches, suggesting they are relatives.
Garth  VU68V in Y-Search.  Apparently not in G Project.  Unclear if this man is a G person.  A man
who matches his first 12 markers, was found to be haplo F.  No info on origins.
Gems  GXMRJ in Y-Search.  Apparently not in G Project.  Unclear whether predicted or confirmed
as G.  Although his 12 markers miss matching one of the U13+ clades by one value, this
sample has a flavor of U13 which would be confirmed or not with additional markers.
Gerena Aguiar  6369T in Y-Search.  29816 in G Project.  Only predicted as G.  Lists origins in
Spain.  He has an unusual 15+16 value for the DYS19 marker.

but unclear if tested further.  Lists origins in France.
              Confirmed by Garvey Project (# Y-150) as G2a...U8+, U1+, U13+.
He is currently too distant genetically from the large U13 group to meet my criteria for inclusion.
He has also developed a null value for DYS425 which is an unusual finding.
Gill  This is a group of closely related men in Y-Search.  They will not be listed here individually, but
link here to see the group in Y-Search.  Three of them are in G Project.  They have an unusual
null value for DYS425.  One of the men as been confirmed by lab as G (M201+) but unclear
if tested further.  List English origins.  [One of the men here also indicated he had been tested
by a lab and found to be G2, but not G2a or G2b.]
Gillespie  ZMXTH in Y-Search.  79469 in G Project.  Confirmed by the lab as G2a but unclear whether
tested further.  Lists origins in Prussia.  [The G Project says Scotland but the Prussian genealogy
              has details]
Gino  AEMP5 in Y-Search.  Apparently not in G Project.  Unclear whether predicted or confimed G.
Lists both Italian and Israeli info in his ancestral info.  His 12 markers match exactly Fernandez
              and Rodriguez # 1.
Gittess  RG5V6 in Y-Search.  Apparently not in G Project.  Unclear whether predicted or confirmed G.
Has no info on origins in Old World.

Golden # 3  NX4X4 in Y-Search.  80674 in G Project. Confirmed by lab as G2a, but unclear if
tested further.  Lists only American origins.
All the Goldens seem closely related.   They also closely match Bray, but 2 names do not make a clade.
Gomez  BV8PE in Y-Search.  Apparently not in G Project.  Unclear whether predicted or confirmed as G.
               Lists Cuban origins.
Goossens   W7SJQ in Y-Search.  N32937 in G Project.  Confirmed as G2a by lab.  Unclear if tested further.
His slow markers have similarity with Wandell's, but they are a bit distant genetically.
               Lists origins in Belgium.
Gopinathan  Apparently not in Y-Search.  N14477 in G Project.  Confimed as G2a by lab but unclear if
tested further.   Lists origins in India.  He has many of the features of the European clade
               # 15 as well as the Caucasian clade # 22 in his 12 markers.  He has an unusual 10 value for
               DYS439.

Grider  A sample from Sorenson database.  Not tested for G status.  Lists American origins.
He has many features of the DYS388=13 clade (# 2), but several marker values are atypical.
Grishchenko  6ZM22 in Y-Search.  Apparently not in G Project.  Unclear whether confirmed or
predicted as G.  Lists Russian origins.  He has a rare value of 13 for DYS392.

predicted as G.  Lists Ukrainian origins.
Gruppo  6QS3F in Y-Search.  N8266 in G Project.  Only predicted as G.   Lists Italian origins.
His DYS390 value of 20 is relatively low for G persons, but it found in various places.
His 12 markers are similar to Fluegge (above) and 3 Turkish G men.
Guerinet  ZMK2G in Y-Search.  Apparently not in G Project.  Unclear whether confirmed or
predicted as G.  Lists French origins.  The very unusual 12,12 values for DYS385 suggests a
need for SNP testing to confirmed this is truly a G person.
Gurfinkel  EBWKZ in Y-Search.  45905 in G Project.  Only predicted as G.  Lists origins in Poland.
His first 12 markers exactly match Lieberman (Lithuania), but a lack of sufficient markers
prevents confirming a relationship. These two men are possibly close also to two
               Lithuanians, Singer and Pleever.
Gursel  TYB8D in Y-Search.  34185 in G Project.  Lists origins in Turkey.  Confirmed by lab as G2a1.
               Unclear if tested for G2a1a.

G2a, G2b.  Lists origins in Spain.
Hahn/Hehn  YPRDS in Y-Search.  N3666 in G Project.  Confirmed by the lab as G, but unclear if tested
                further.  He has a 12 value for DYS392 found in clades 24 & 25.  A G1 type classification
is thus suspected but not proven.
Hakim  XMYR3 in Y-Search.  N28264 in G Project.  Confirmed by lab as G2a but unclear if tested
further.  Lists Lebanese origins.  His 12 markers match a sample in YHRD from Latium,
Italy, and he has some similarities with Kaser, Powell and Cherry's first 12 markers.
Halteh  A sample in Sorenson database.  Lists Palestinian origins.  Not tested for G status.
The key markers suggest this is a G person, but some of the faster-mutating markers are unusual.
Hamilton # 3  MRMEH in Y-Search.  9427 in G Project.  Confirmed by lab as G2a but not G2a1 or
               G2a2.  Lists Irish origins.
Hanit/Kletskin  9PUNC in Y-Search.  70621 in G Project. Lab makes no prediction as to G status.
Lists origins in Belarus.  He shares a common ancestor within 1700 yrs with Miller # 4, a Russian
These men are DYS388=13 and might properly belong to clade # 2.
If so, their residence is one possible route of migration for clade # 2 -- from north of the Black Sea.
Hanit and Miller have a very uncommon 21,21 value for marker YCA.
Harbison # 1  6JRRK in Y-Search.  42815 in G Project.  Only predicted as G.  Lists origins in
Scotland in one source, but Ireland in another.
Harbison # 2  V9923 in Y-Search.  Apparently not in G Project.  Lists origins in Ireland.
His 25 markers exactly match Harbison # 1.
The first 12 markers of both Harbisons exactly match Longo, but not enough markers exist to
determine a relationship.  The Harbisons are very likely to be G2a - U8* as the sample is
surrounded in phylogenetic diagrams by confirmed U8* persons.  This sample seems a
transition sample from DYS388=13 to those with DYS388=12, which latter value is possessed
              by the Harbisons.
Harper  A group of men in Y-Search.  They will not be listed separately here, but link here to
see those in Y-Search.   The 37-marker sample is no in G Project.  Most list Irish
origins.  22178 in G project is one of the smaller samples.  He is only predicted G2a.
Harper is very closely related to Wright # 2.  45457 is also only predicted G2a and is Irish.
Hart  F3YJK in Y-Search.  77506 in G Project.  Confirmed as G2a by lab.  Lists origins in England.
Seems to cluster generally with U8* persons, DYS388=12.
Hartman  SW7RE in Y-Search.  78202 in G Project.  Confirmed as G (M201+) by lab but unclear
if tested further.   Lists German origins.  He is relatively close genetically to Mock 2P3CY
who tested as I1a.  Near matches among 12 markers are also I1a, and the lab results that
list Hartman as I1a are thus in doubt.  Testing by a different lab would be desirable.
Havre  Z4HYQ in Y-Search.  Apparently not in G Project.  Unclear whether confirmed or predicted
              as G.  Lists Greek origins.
Hawes  AVT8T in Y-Search.  Apparently not in G Project.  Unclear whether confirmed or predicted
              as G.  Lists English origins.

Herres  ZGM3U in Y-search.  55950 in G Project.   Lists origins in Germany.
Confirmed by Garvey Project (# Y-119) as G1 but not G1a.
He has a very similar profile to # 79 (from Turkey) in the Y-Chromosome Consortium
study which was also typed as G1*.  Two persons, however, do not constitute a clade.
Herres does not cluster genetically with the 4 other named G1* persons.
Herzbrun  Apparently not in Y-Search.  57218 in G Project.  Confirmed by the lab as G (M201+)
but unclear if tested further.  Lists origins in Hungary.  His marker values suggest he is
possibly a G5 person, but the limited marker set and several atypical values make
              confirmation difficult.
Hey  HD9TR in Y-Search.  N30383 in G Project.  Confirmed as G (M201+) but unclear if tested
             further.  Lists a German origin.
Hezerkhani  TNB53 in Y-Search.  Apparently not in G project.  Unclear whether predicted or
confirmed as G.  Lists Iranian origins.

confirmed as G.  Lists American origins.
Honore AFBW9 in Y-Search.  Apparently not in G Project.  Unclear whether predicted or
confirmed as G.  The displayed results are missing DYS19 which makes it hard to
             confirm relationships.

if tested further.  Lists origins in Scotland.  He has two unusual values.  The DYS19 marker
has a multiple 14+15 value, and DYS456 has a value (12) unusually lower than other G persons.
Hyatt  54WQ5 in Y-Search.  19053 in G Project.  Only predicted as G.
Icgoren  RUD38 in Y-Search.  Apparently not in G Project.  Unclear whether predicted or confirmed
as G.  Lists Turkish origins.  Has some features of the G2c clade # 1, but none of those in the
             clade have so many differences.
Iradi/Ieradi  HREM3 in Y-Search.  11029 in G Project.  Lab makes no prediction as to G status.
             Lists Italian origins.
Jiron/De Gallego  5KRC4 in Y-Search.  45675 in G Project.  Confirmed as G2a by lab but unclear
if tested further.  His 12 markers exactly match Gallegos who has 37.  Gallegos, like Jiron,
has features of clade # 2 with DYS388=13, but Gallegos fails to closely match anyone in clade 2.
Johnson # 2  5YNCJ in Y-Search  Apparently not in G Project.  Unclear whether predicted or
             confirmed as G.

Jones # 10  Apparently not in Y-Search.  55205 in G Project.  Lab makes no prediction as to G status.
No info on origins.  Jones is a Welsh surname.

Kalimnakis/Galotsis  32R65 in Y-Search.  N43744 in G Project.  Confimed by lab as G (M201+)
but unclear if tested further.  Lists Greek origins.  Seems to have the same marker values
of several persons who are G1.
Kapletia  ZD836 in Y-Search.  N38522 in G Project.  Confirmed as G2a by lab, but unclear
if tested for subgroups.  He clusters somewhat with U13+ persons, but unclear if this is
             coincidental.  Lists origins in India.

but unclear if tested further. Lists Turkish origins.
Kraus # 4  74ZXV in Y-Search.   11125 in G Project. There are a large number of Kraus samples, and they
will not be listed individually here.  They can be viewed together at Y-Search.
A high majority of these list no Old World origins, but several list Germany.  Many are in G Project,
but cannot be matched to Y-Search because most are 12 markers.
Kraus # 4  confirmed by lab as G2a but negative for G2a1 and G2a2.
Kurdi  ZCHM9 in Y-Search.  Apparently not in G Project.  Confirmed by lab as G2a but negative for G2a1.

             Turkish Kurdish origins.
Kurer  BYDSJ in Y-Search.  82873 in G Project.  Confirmed by the lab as G (M201+) but unclear if
tested further.  His 12 markers are close to the Turkish group (#21) and to Kihm.  Lists Swiss origins.

as G.  Lists no information as to origins.
     The Lees are closely related.
Lieberman  Apparently not in Y-Search.  88677 in G Project.  Only predicted as G.
Lists origins in Lithuania.  His sample has similarities to Pleever and Singer -- also from
that country, but the number of markers available is too small for valid comparisons.  He is
an exact match at 12 markers to Gurfinkel, but again lack of markers prevents valid
            conclusions.
Lien  G8UVS in Y-Search.  Lists only American origins.  Is possible closest to Bohn in the
Sorenson database, but having only 11 markers available handicaps this comparison.
Apparently not in G Project.  He lists a rare value of 20 for DYS390.
Lindsay  FZXEB in Y-Search.  Apparently not in G Project.  Unclear whether predicted or confirmed
             as G.  Lists American origins.

             relationship -- if any.
Lyon  Z5BTY in Y-Search.  86856 in G Project.  Confirmed by the lab as G2a, but unclear if
tested further.  He has an unusual DYS391 value of 9.

as G.  No info on origins.
Mantz  A sample in the Sorenson DNA database.  Lists German origins.  Not tested for G status.
He seems a general match to the Mayes samples, but not enough markers are available.
Maranas  RT43C in Y-Search.  N24176 in G Project.  Only predicted as G by lab.  His nearest
persons with similar patterns are Ray & Peyton, but more than 12 markers needed to
determine any relationship.  Lists origins in Greece.
Marin  A sample in Sorenson database.  Not tested for G.  Lists American/Mexican origins.
Martin # 1  A sample in the Sorenson DNA database.  Lists only American origins.  Not typed for
             G status.
Martin # 3  Probably not in Y-Search.  27663 in G Project.  Lab makes no prediction as to G status.

or confirmed as G.  Lists Mexican origins, possibly German earlier.
Martz  Y53G8 in Y-Search.  Apparently not in G Project.  Unclear whether predicted or confirmed as G.
              Lists American origins.
Mas  3BVTY in Y-Search.  N3867 in G Project.  Confirmed by the lab as G (M201+) but unclear
if tested further.  Lists Spanish origins.  For unknown reasons listed with Frenchmen in G
              project.
Mason/Mozesson  S87RH in Y-Search.  39076 in G Project.  Confirmed by the lab as G1.
Lists origins in Poland.  He does not cluster genetically with the 4 other G1* persons or with the one
in the Turkish Cinnioglu study.  Confirmed by Garvey Project (# Y-155) as G1 but not G1a.
Maughmer  YUNGZ in Y-Search.  Apparently in G Project.  Unclear whether confirmed or predicted
G, but his close match confirmed G2a.  Believes he has German ancestry, not confirmed.
The position of this sample on the diagrams suggests it is likely this person is U8+.
He matches Confoey 66 of 67 markers, but two surnames do not constitute a clade.
May  Apparently not in Y-Search.  66709 in G Project.  Predicted by lab as G2a, but he is quite
distant genetically from the G group and testing needed to confirm G status.
Mayes # 3  HXXXS with MU4UR  and ZYTH8.  HXXXS is 58363 in G Project.  The other two
apparently not part of the project.   List English origins except for ZYTH8 who says he is Irish.
Number 58363 in G Project is very similar to these but apparently not in Y-Search.  All
these four have 37 markers.   Mayes # 1 is in the Sorenson DNA database and seems
             closely related to these men.
In addition, there are multiple samples under the Mays, Mayes surname with less
than 37 markers, most with no info on Old World origins:  PG84B  and S7WM3 and
29JEB and 5CAY8 and XK5SW  Only one of these:  38627 is in G project.
The lab does not predict any haplogroup for these based on available info.
The Mayeses closely match to Conaway, but two surnames do not constitute a clade.
The first 12 markers of Mayes match the 12 markers of the Dover sample.
The Mayeses probably are generally near matches to Mantz (German) in the Sorenson DNA
database but not enough markers are available.
Mayo # 1/Guariglia  7MZGR in Y-Search.  N8298 in G Project.  Only predicted as G.  Lists

match Mueller.  Miller # 4 shares a common ancestor within 1700 yrs with Hanik
