This site is dedicated to reviving the memory of prizefighters (bare knuckle and Queensberry) who rightfully deserve to be remembered, but whose names seldom are brought up in boxing discussions. Hopefully, they will jog your memory of great and not-so-great fighters of the past who, through their determination, skill (or lack thereof) and heart, have earned their place in boxing history. It’s of my opinion, if a man has the heart or intestinal fortitude, which ever
way you want to put it, to step into the square circle, he has deemed himself worthy to be remembered in boxing history.
This web site is a “work in progress” that will change periodically, so please, come back and see what’s new.
My interest in boxing started as a teen traveling across the United States meeting people such as Angelo and Chris Dundee, Cassius Clay, Zora Folley, Lou Ambers, Florentino Fernandez, Willie Pastrano and Luis Rodriquez to name a few. This lead to my participation in Golden Gloves in Phoenix, AZ and my path toward becoming a boxing historian. Over the years, my collection has grown into one of largest photo libraries in the United States, and includes both professional and personal information (when available) on each boxer in the collection. Photos from my collection were used in PBS’ History Detectives episode regarding the “Dempsey Bell.” In my "spare" time, I am a contributing editor to BoxRec, as well as publicist and member of Ring 101, Baltimore, MD.
