Why We Observe the Visible New Moon
*(YAHWEH'S calendar explained.)

Recently we have been contacted by a lady in prison. It seems that she was one of the major players in the Republic of Texas movement that was going on in the not too distant past. She was actually appointed as the secretary of the provisional government. Being such, she had the records of all persons who were involved as citizens in this movement.

When told by the Bush administration to hand over those records, she refused. They promptly decided to arrest her. The Carneys called the Sheriff’s office and requested that if an arrest was eminent, then please call and she would report to them. The Sheriff’s people advised them that there were no warrants for her arrest.

The next thing they knew, storm troopers in full SWAT gear with automatic weapons were knocking on their door. She is now locked away on a ten year sentence.

She wrote to me stating, "So much government intervention, greed and desire for power caused many problems with the Republic of Texas. Most people left out YAHWEH and turned from our main goal of freedom from tyranny. We wanted to educate the people and go for a vote. But the people are not even in search of the truth found in the Scriptures."

Yes, sadly, such is the case. People simply don’t care what happens as long as they are able to fatten their pockets and pretty much do whatever their little heart desires. Witness the past Presidential administration and all of the scandals involved with it. The people didn’t care what kind of leader they had as long as they felt that they were prospering in the physical realm. Actually, people hate knowledge, especially the knowledge of YAHWEH.

I wrote to her saying, "I knew about the Republic of Texas, but refused to become involved because I know the heart of man. I did attend a meeting in Dallas one time, but with Scriptural knowledge as my background, I also know that today’s worldly governments are in the hands and spirit of Satan the devil. I understand that the intentions of some were good. They wanted to set up a separate country and government that would be good for and serve the people. Again, as I say, and as you found out, the government is in the hands of Satan the devil and the newly found government would simply have quickly corrupted even if such had been allowed to take place.

I mentioned to a friend of mine who was becoming actively involved in the meetings that I don’t care how legal and how pure many of the intentions were, a separate nation of Texas wouldn’t come about unless it was ruled and governed by Masons and approved by them. You see, Masons are the real rulers of the worldly governments today. Look at the back of the one dollar bill. The New World Order was announced back in the 1930’s by FDR when he and his cohorts began to print the one dollar bill with its current design. Read my article entitled "YAHWEH'S Passover Deliverance" which was sent along with the May-Jun issue of the newsletter. It should explain so much to you about what is going on in the world.

I have done much research into Freemasonry in the last several years. I have traced it back to Cain and his progeny before the flood and Nimrod and Semiramis after the flood. Cain was the first city builder mentioned before the flood. He named his first city after his son Enoch. Enoch means "initiated." One must be "initiated" into the Masonic lodges and system. Nimrod was the first city builder after the flood. To build a city required the skills of masonry. Had I known you beforehand, I could have warned you, but due to your involvement, I doubt that you would have listened to me.

I know the tactics that Satan utilizes. Anytime a group of people, any group, begins to grow in number, riches and influence, then he sends his agents into that organization to take it over and set the goals, doctrines, etc. Masons can come into any group and may be oblivious to the presence of other masons in that group, but all it takes is a hand shake, a few secret words and they immediately know who is a brother (Masonic) and who is not. Then they can work together to take over. That is exactly what happened to the first century assembly or church (if you like). Read the book of Jude. It talks of those who were secretly coming among them with damnable heresies. It was foreordained that such things would occur according to Jude.

I witnessed such a take over back in the 80’s. I was a former member of the Worldwide Church of God. Many, many of the teachings of that group were right on as far as Scripture is concerned. We had a purpose and goal of publishing the gospel of the coming kingdom of God. We were dedicated to that goal in every facet of our lives and also to the application of YAHWEH'S commandments. The problem is that those at the top were just like those whom you described. They were more greedy for gain than vigilant for the tactics of the enemy. The enemy sent his agents in. They eventually obtained control of that group and then began to change the teachings to suit perverted Christianity. Christianity has been perverted for centuries now. They had already corrupted somewhat, but Constantine the Great was the greatest pervert of history.He entered into the congregation and began to change things to suit his fancy and his own religion. He (and those who followed him in his dynasty) became Pontifex Maximus (high priest) of the assembly/church actually replacing YAHshua, the true heavenly High Priest. He then became both the civil and ecclesiastical head. The rest is history.

Our present duty is to announce the coming kingdom of Elohim which will be administered under the power and authority of YAHshua the Messiah. At that time the true government will be established which will truly serve the peoples of the earth. Satan hates that message and if and when we do become strong enough to make a showing, then he will pull out all stops to destroy the body of true believers. He is already having a tremendous impact since there are so many diverse beliefs sown among the believers in the true names today.

You have discovered that most people’s hearts are set on their pocket book. They don’t care about freedom nor the truth as long as they can acquire and accumulate wealth. It is disheartening, but true. Read the book of Proverbs, you will learn that most people even hate knowledge. Then read 2 Thes. 2:1-12. People will hate the truth even to the point of destruction." The present rulers of this world love their positions of authority. They are quite willing to play the power game. They make it look like they are concerned for the people, but the only real thing that they are concerned with is lining their pockets and aggrandizing themselves as much as possible.

The law means nothing to them (YAHWEH'S or man’s). Now allow me to clarify this statement. Laws are passed in order to control the masses, but as we have discovered in recent news events, our own congress loves to create rules and regulations for the masses while they exempt themselves from those same laws made for everyone else. Let’s see, wasn’t there a group of people in YAHshua's day who were doing the same thing?

YAHshua said, "The Scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat: all therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works; for they say, and do not. For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments, and love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues. And greetings in the markets, and to be called Rabbi, Rabbi," Mt. 23:1-6.

How much like the Scribes and Pharisees are those who are administering our own government right here in America today! They love to tell you and me how to live and act and impose laws upon us (heavy burdens and grievous to be borne) while they exempt themselves from such. They love the chief places, the best for themselves, the fame, the fortune, etc.

Such is what happens when men are empowered over others. Their own self importance and power begins to kick in. They become vain and puffed up (prideful). They love to be well spoken of so they try to accomplish certain works in order to bring acclaim to themselves, all the while taking advantage of and lording it over others in secret. While they may live and die in fame and fortune today, their judgment will come and they and their true works will be revealed. Shame will eventually cover them as a garment. YAHWEH is going to reveal the truth about us all, but He will mercifully cover those who are His and they will be the ones in charge of the powers of government and leadership in the world tomorrow. What a world that will be, because the leaders of that world will not have to worry about making laws or laying grievous burdens on the shoulders of others. The laws of freedom already exist. They are YAHWEH'S righteous laws.

There will be no lobbying nor bribery. There will only be honesty, decency, morality, peace and rest. While it will be a tremendous blessing to be able to administer such a government, whether one is a part of that government or not, it will be such a tremendous blessing to live under its authority. The earth and its peoples will be full of joy and rejoicing, blessings and light, peace and rest. The sister that wrote to me is a political prisoner of Satan and his modern day cohorts. In that day, the political and spiritual prisoners will be Satan himself and those who have been his cohorts. May YAHWEH speed that wondrous day! Please pray for this sister in bonds. JH

We are happy to report that we have made arrangements to acquire the Strange Family Bluegrass Festival Park for our observance of the Feast of Tabernacles this year. The park is located about 8-9 miles south of Texarkana, Texas, right off of U. S. Highway 59.

There are plenty of hook-ups for RV’s as well as plenty of space to pitch a tent. The price of the spaces will be $10 per day for full hook-up, $7 per day for electricity and water hook-up, $6.00 per day for water only (tents).

It is a beautiful, well manicured park with plenty of shade trees. The park has two restroom facilities for both men and women with two showers in each restroom. The meeting hall also has restroom facilities with one shower each. The meeting hall has kitchen facilities with 3 refrigerators and an electric cook stove, sink, etc.

We are currently running ads in the local papers in order to find some camper trailers for those who might need them. The last feast, we made about 7 campers available at $20.00 per day. Add the hook-up fee and the price will be $30.00 per day. We are not sure how many we will have available, but if we can get enough, it will be better than using a motel.

For those who prefer a motel room, the closest motel is The Budget Inn, 4501 S. Lake Drive, Ph. # 903-838-0300. It is a brand new motel and should be in peak condition.

Texarkana has plenty of the large chain motels, but they are several miles away (about 7-10 miles). We can send information on them if you need it. There are also plenty of local restaurants and shopping centers, etc.

We don't have a map yet, but the park is relatively easy to find. There are signs on the highway which direct people to the park. We also will make signs to be posted for directions.

Dear Jerry, I just received this month’s newsletter and wanted you to know how much I enjoyed reading every word of it. I am so looking forward to the next. I am amazed how much knowledge you have and continuously express and thank YHWH for each nugget of gold found in your presentations. The Set Apart Spirit is moving beautifully in the hearts of my loved ones and only one word can begin to express my feelings: Awesome! I especially enjoyed the teaching on adultery and marriage contracts/commitments, physical and spiritual applications. Keep up the great teaching and it’s OK to stand on high principals, especially when it comes to YHWH’S. Jn. 1:23. I thank Him daily for His Lamb who took away the sin of the world! Jn. 1:29. In chapter two of the second epistle of Paul to the Thessalonians we read of a man of sin and the mystery of iniquity. What does mystery of iniquity mean?

On checking various translations and the Greek words from which the translations were made, we find that sin means lawlessness; and iniquity means lawlessness or illegality. The Greek word for mystery here is in a sense of something secretive. The Scriptures translation has "secret of lawlessness".

Verse seven indicates that the secret of lawlessness was already at work when the epistle was written about 54 C.E. The context speaks of sin or lawlessness. Remember, sin is lawlessness, 1 John 3:4. Just what is the secret of lawlessness?

When the Messiah, YAHshua, was here on earth He taught and kept His FATHER'S commandments. He also revealed and made known His FATHER'S name to men, Jn. 17:6 & 26. But as time went on, compromise was made with the heathen. Churchianity today contains heathen practices and priests have done violence to YAHWEH'S law, Ez. 22:26. Many ministers today even say they can’t keep the commandments. Thereby they are hiding the importance of law keeping that the Scriptures teach. Here are some examples:

1. It is kept secret that not observing the Scriptural Sabbath on the seventh day of the week (Saturday) is a major sin, breaking the fourth of the royal ten commandment law, Ex. 20:8 to 11; Mat. 28:1.
2. John 3:16 is emphasized about being saved by believing in the only begotten Son of the Almighty One; but the condemnation of not believing in His true Name (verse 18) is kept a secret. Darkness is loved, evil is done, not doing truth (verses 19, 20, 21). It is kept too secret that if we REALLY believe in the Son (YAHshua), we will do what He said, Luke 6:47 & 49 and that He indicated keeping His FATHER'S commandments concerning everlasting life, Mat. 19:17 to 19.
3. Love of the Almighty and neighbor is emphasized, Mat. 22:37 & 39; but the importance of the fact that ALL the law is yet here hanging on these two commands, is kept secret, verse 40, as is the fact that love of the Almighty One is keeping His commandments, 1 Jn. 5:3. YAHshua indicated that He did not come to destroy the law, Mt. 5:17.
4. Legalism is condemned. This leaves Illegality. YAHshua will one day say, "Depart from me, you that work illegality" (or practice lawlessness), Mat. 7:23. This is kept secret.
5. "We’re all sinners" is emphasized. Yes, we’ve all violated the law; but we are to repent of that. Kept secret is the fact of the importance of working at not sinning after repentance, being righteous; and that the righteous are scarcely (or hardly) saved, 1 Pet. 4:18, and that works are important, Ro. 2:13.
6. It is kept secret that Romans 3:20 does not mean that law keeping is not important; but means just that our sins cannot be atoned for by our merely obeying, or beginning to obey the law. We must believe YAHshua died for that.
7. "We’re under grace" (favour) is emphasized, implying that we don’t need to be too concerned about law keeping. What this really means is a secret. Suppose one commits a sin (illegality) such as stealing or murder, and by the authorities is sentenced to a term in jail as the penalty. He is freed after serving the term, and is then under the grace (favour) of the authorities not to be committing the crime anymore. If He does, he’s back in jail. So too with YAHWEH'S law. The penalty for the offense is death, Ro. 6:23; but YAHshua paid the penalty for us. As a free gift we may have life. We are under YAH'S favour not to be continuing in sin. If we do, we are again under the death penalty. At 1 Jn. 2:1 the Word indicates to not sin; but if we do, we have an intercessor with the FATHER, YAHshua the Messiah the righteous. However, if we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, YAHshua's offering does not remain, Hebrews 10:26—such as breaking the Sabbath every week, for example.

Thankfully one day the man of lawlessness will be revealed and rendered entirely idle by the manifestation of YAHshua's coming, 2 Thes. 2:8. There will be no more secret about what YAHWEH'S law has to do with our salvation. There will be no more mystery about lawlessness. YAHWEH can be praised.

NOTE: Our King James Version also keeps lawlessness somewhat of a secret where the word "iniquity" is used instead at Mat. 7:23, 13:41 & 2 Thes. 2:7. Rotherham, The Scriptures, and New American Standard versions have corrected this. And prefaces often show that the true name of the FATHER has been left out of the text, as also is the Son's name.

Sadly, some people say the Old Testament is the very foundation of their faith, but when it comes to the subject of wine vs. grape juice for the emblem of the cup representing YAHshua's blood, they will say, It says fruit of the vine and that means grape juice!! Sorry my friend, the grape is the fruit of the vine, just like oranges are the fruit of the orange tree, etc. You wouldn’t walk up to an orange tree and start trying to bring orange juice anymore than You’d walk up to a grape vine and expect to find grape juice. Juice is a by product of its fruit.

Let’s take a look at the word fruit as used in Mt. 26:29; Mk. 14:25; Lk. 22:18; 2 Cor. 9:10. It is #1081 in the Greek lexicon of Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance and is defined as: gennema; from 1080; offspring; by analogy, produce (literally or figuratively). It is generally translated as fruit or generation.

Since it is from #1080, let’s do a search back to its origins to see if we can receive anymore enlightenment. #1080—gennao; from a variation of 1085; to procreate (properly, of the father, but by extension of the mother); figuratively, to regenerate.

#1085—genos; from 1096; "kin" (abstract or concrete, literal or figurative, individual or collective). It is generally translated as: born, country(-man), diversity, generation, kind(-red), nation, offspring, stock.

#1096—ginomai; a prolongation and middle voice form of a primary verb; to cause to be ("gen"-erate), i.e. (reflexively) to become (come into being), used with great latitude (literal, figurative, intensive, etc.).

The word "gennema" (#1081—fruit) is translated as "generation" in Mt. 3:7; 12:34; 23:33; & Lk. 3:7. "Offspring" is another usage of #1081.

Mt. 3:7; 23:33; 12:34; Lk. 3:7 refer to "generation" (#1081) of vipers. In Mt. 23:23-29 YAHshua calls the scribes and Pharisees hypocrites about 4 times. He seems to be saying they want to keep the letter of the law, but throw out the Spirit of the law, judgment, mercy and faith. These people that He calls hypocrites are fruit of the vine of Israel and Judah. He said, You make clean the outside, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity, excess, extortion, uncleanness, etc. I’d say these grapes were still fermenting. Evidently some juice was squeezed (by YAHshua?). Those self-righteous whited sepulchres could hardly stand this, and I don’t think they loved YAHshua for it.

In Mt. 3:9 YAHshua told these same people to not think to say Abraham is your father, for YAHWEH can of these stones raise up children to Abraham. This after calling them a generation of vipers (v. 7).

Yes, the scribes, Pharisees, Sadducees truly were indignant and puffed up because they were of Abraham’s seed. Then in Mt. 23:32-33 He said, "Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers. Ye serpents, ye generation (fruit) of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of gehenna fire?"

So, these are fruit of the vine called serpents. Yes, it’s so. These are fruit of the vine called Israel, YAHWEH'S vineyard, and Judah, His pleasant plant (Isa. 5:7). These all went into captivity for law breaking. There was no Spirit to change them. They just fermented and fermented in their little minds. They were just natural people.

YAHWEH says a nation void of counsel, with no understanding, will have their vine, the vine of Sodom and of the fields of Gomorrah: Their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters are bitter: Their wine (yayin) is the poison of dragons, and the cruel venom of asps. Why? Because their rock is not as our Rock (Dt. 32:33). Are we drinking of that drink offering?

YAHWEH says He will judge His People (Dt. 32:36) and in verse 7 He says, "And He will say, ‘Where are their elohim, their rock in whom they trusted? (You know, the one with bitter wine). 38. Which did eat the fat of their sacrifices, and drank the wine of their drink offerings? Let them rise up and help you, and be your protection.’ (This wasn’t according to law, drink offerings were poured in the Levitical Priesthood dispensation).

"And He said, ‘I will hide My face from them. I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith. They have moved Me to jealousy with that which is not El; they have provoked Me to anger with their vanities: And I will move them to jealousy with those which are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation’," Dt. 32:20-21.

These children have no faith. They can’t serve a Spirit Being. They conjure up idols in their imagination, build them and then serve them. YAHWEH is Spirit and wants to be worshipped in spirit and truth (Jn. 4:24). He’s incorruptible; He’s the same yesterday, today, and forever. He isn’t changeable; that’s why "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the FATHER of lights, with Who is no variableness, neither shadow of turning," Jas. 1:17).

Does this sound like YAHshua, the greatest gift ever given mankind? He didn’t sin, no corruption in Him. No man born of a woman can say this, except YAHshua. He is the sacrifice provided by YAHWEH, without spot or blemish. He is indeed the Son of YAHWEH, His seed remaineth in him: and He cannot sin, because He is born of YAHWEH (1 Jn. 3:9).

YAHshua, unlike man, isn’t begotten by the word, He is the Word, the Eternal Spiritual Word Who was fashioned in flesh like us to die for us, so we can be saved; not of ourselves, it is a gift from above.

"Thus saith YAHWEH, ‘As the new wine (tirosh) is found in the cluster, and one saith, ‘Destroy it not; for a blessing is in it:’ so will I do for My servants’ sakes, that I may not destroy them all. And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah an inheritor of My mountains: and Mine Elect shall inherit it, and My servants shall dwell there’," Isa. 65:8-9. Isn’t this speaking of YAHshua?

"Who knoweth if He will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind Him; even a meal offering and a drink offering unto YAHWEH your Elohim?" Joel 2:14. What is the meal offering and drink offering? Is it prescribed by YAHWEH throughout the Old Testament along with the animal sacrifice?

"I AM THE TRUE VINE, AND My FATHER is the Husbandman," Jn. 15:1. If we drink of the fruit of the true vine, if we eat the flesh of the incorruptible YAHshua (the eternal Word), we have life in us. The human life is in the blood (corruptible). The life inherited through YAHshua is of the seed of YAHWEH (incorruptible). It is spiritual; it is perfected through YAHshua; it is acceptable to YAHWEH. Only wine could represent His blood. It’s the spirit that quickens. YAHshua's blood was spilled at the base of His body, our altar of worship. We go through Him to gain audience with YAHWEH.

"Every branch in Me that beareth not fruit He taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, He purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit," Jn. 15:2. Is this carnal, natural corruptible, or is it spiritual and acceptable to YAHWEH? "Now you are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you," v. 3. "YAHshua saith to him, ‘He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all.’ For He knew who should betray Him; therefore said He, ‘Ye are not all clean," Jn. 13:10-11. "Believest thou not that I am in the FATHER and the FATHER in Me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of Myself: but the FATHER That dwelleth in Me, He doeth the works," Jn. 14:10. YAHWEH and YAHshua exist ETERNALLY!

So, who do you raise the glass to and what fruit do you bear in your heart, natural Israel, grape juice; fruit of serpents, hypocrisy; fruits of Sodom and Gomorrah, bitter wine; or do you eat and drink the Eternal Word, Wisdom, that existed from the beginning? You choose, and you teach others what you choose. Be careful!

What an erroneous dichotomy, grape juice (full of leaven) with unleavened bread! Can’t we believe the FATHER when with every animal sacrifice, the meal offering was unleavened and wine was poured? Can man out-righteous YAHWEH? Look at the Gitteth, "Return, we beseech Thee, O Elohim of hosts: look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine; and the vineyard which Thy right hand hath planted, and the branch that Thou madest strong for Thyself. It is burned with fire, it is cut down: they perish at the rebuke of Thy countenance," Psa. 80:14-16. This is carnal Israel. Verse 18 says, "Quicken us and we will call on Thy name." To quicken is to give life that only YAHWEH can give, and He’s chosen to do so through YAHshua. His seed remains in us, and we’ll be given Life in the resurrection. We now have the earnest of the Spirit, and should be able to discern YAHshua's body.

We believe in a Spirit Being we’ve never seen. How does He guide us? Israel built a temple (house) for YAHWEH to dwell in. In Acts 7:49 YAHWEH says, What house can you build for Me, heaven is My throne and earth is My footstool? What is the place of My rest? Verse 51, "Ye stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Spirit. As your fathers did, so do you."

In our temples, in our hearts and minds YAHWEH dwells, so we become the sanctuary of the Holy Spirit; don’t resist it. If we can’t handle a swallow of wine once a year, how can we handle the Holy Spirit poured upon us? In Acts 2, the Apostles, filled with the Spirit, appeared to be drunk to people.

In Lk. 2:16, a rich man had plenty of fruit so he wanted to build bigger barns to store it so he could sit back and eat, drink and be merry. He’s like Israel with the temple; all glorious, but without YAHWEH'S Shekinal Glory presence, it’s just another house. Our fruit is spiritual, in the heavens. We need the Spirit YAHshua offers in order to change.

Mt. 12:33 says either make the tree good and his fruit good, or else the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: the tree is known by his fruit, "O generation (fruit) of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? (v. 34). (The only way for us to survive and have life is to abide in the vine (Jn. 15). The Spiritual Vine that gives life.

"For in Him we live and move and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring, For as much then as we are the offspring of Elohim, we ought not to think that the Yahweh-head is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device," Acts 17:28-29.

Indeed, YAHWEH is not a graven image, but rather a LIVING SPIRIT. That Spirit indwells us, Messiah in us, the hope of glory (Col. 1:2).

Remember #1080 means to procreate. To procreate what; natural sinful people?

Rev. 22:16, last part, YAHshua says, "I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright and morning Star."

David was of the pleasant plant, Judah of which "the blessing" would come, even a meal offering and a drink offering (Joel 2:14). Look in the O.T. again and see what the drink offering is. We don’t drink blood, but He left us a drink offering behind and He said, "This cup is the New Covenant in My blood: this do ye, as often as ye drink it, in remembrance of Me.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

QUESTION: Since the new year begins with the new moon in the month of Abib, then shouldn’t the seven day count down to arrive at the Sabbath day also begin from the new moon and not from the counting of days on a secular/civil calendar (i.e. Julian calendar)? This confuses me to a certain degree since the festivals begin and are controlled from the new moon. Could you please clear this up for me? Right now our 7th day Sabbath is controlled by the Roman calendar. R.S., TX

ANSWER: We know that there is a growing movement to regard the New Moon as the beginning of the week, but talk about confusion! A question that we need to ask you is do you believe the account in the book of Genesis? Did the original seven day week begin with the sighting of the New Moon?

Another question that we need to ask you is found in the book of Exodus, chapter 16 concerning the account of the manna. Why did YAHWEH wait until the second month of Israel’s journey in the wilderness to reveal the seven day weekly cycle leading to the Sabbath day? Certainly He could have revealed the Sabbatical cycle with the beginning of the New Moon of the first month when they were counting down to the Passover, or He could have revealed it to them when the New Moon of the second month occurred.

Another question we must ask is why did He begin the count-down to the Sabbath on the 16th day of the second month?

Exodus 16:1 says that Israel came into the wilderness of Sin on the 15th day of the second month (chadash = moon or New Moon). It was on that day that they complained because they didn’t have any bread and were afraid that they were going to starve to death. That evening YAHWEH gave them flesh (quail) to eat and in the morning (the 16th) the manna first appeared which led to the count-down to the Sabbath. They gathered manna for 6 days and on the 6th day they gathered twice as much. This was for the purpose of two days because the next day (the seventh) was to be the Sabbath (day of rest) wherein no manna was to be given. The Sabbath occurred on the 22nd day of the month, not the 21st day of the month (chadash/moon/New Moon).

The fact of the matter is that the New Moon is given to determine the beginning, the first day of the month. If the moon were to determine the Sabbaths, then that Sabbath’s rest would have to had occurred on the 21st day, not the 22nd. (3 X 7 = 21)

Another question that we must pose to those who have embraced this faulty reasoning (that the New Moon begins the weekly count-down), is what does one do with the extra day or days at the end of the month? You see, there are approximately 29-1/2 days to a lunar cycle, not a perfect 28. YAHWEH originally established the weekly cycle to be a 7 day cycle (see Gen. 1 again). The moon was created or made visible on the fourth day of that week, not the first day.

YAHWEH established a 7 day weekly cycle in the wilderness by giving manna for 6 days and causing Israel to rest on the 7th. The day after the 7th day Sabbath is the beginning of another weekly cycle (gathering manna for 6 days and resting the 7th). This cycle did not cease for the whole 40 year period that Israel was in the wilderness.

The next thing to do is look at the fourth commandment, "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: but the seventh day is the Sabbath of YAHWEH thy Elohim: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: for in six days YAHWEH made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day, and hallowed it.

Again in Dt. 5:12-15 Israel is commanded, "Keep the Sabbath day to sanctify it, as YAHWEH thy Elohim hath commanded thee. Six days thou shalt labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the Sabbath of YAHWEH thy Elohim: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou. And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that YAHWEH thy Elohim brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore YAHWEH thy Elohim commanded thee to keep the Sabbath day."

Again, in Lev. 23 we read, "And YAHWEH spake unto Moses, saying, ‘Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of YAHWEH, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are My feasts. Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the Sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the Sabbath of YAHWEH in all your dwellings," vv. 1-3.

Notice that in all three places there is no mention of the moon as any determining factor. In all three accounts it is simply stated that we are to labor for six days and then on the Sabbath we are to rest. This is a weekly cycle that YAHWEH instituted, not man. To say that the Roman calendar dictates our present seven day weekly cycle misses the point and confuses the issue. The truth of the matter is that the weekly cycle that YAHWEH instituted dictates to the Roman calendar. However, as we know, the Romans simply changed the nature of observance of the day of congregation from the seventh day to the first day of the week.

Leviticus 23 reveals what days are truly tied to New Moon observance, "These are the feasts of YAHWEH, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons. In the fourteenth of the first month (chadash/new moon/moon) at even is YAHWEH'S Passover. And on the fifteenth day of the same month (chadash/New Moon/moon) is the feast of unleavened bread unto YAHWEH: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread...Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, ‘In the seventh month (chadash/New Moon/moon), in the first day of the month (chadash/New Moon/ moon), shall ye have a Sabbath (Heb. = sabbaton, not Sabbath), a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation...Also on the tenth day of this month (chadash/New Moon/moon) there shall be a day of atonement; it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto YAHWEH...Speak to the children of Israel, saying, ‘The fifteenth day of this seventh month (chadash/New Moon/moon) shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto YAHWEH’," Lev. 23:4-6, 24, 27, 34.

The perpetrators of this doctrine utilize Psa. 104:19 to prove their point, "He appointed the moon (yareach [the other Hebrew word for moon]) for seasons (moedim [plural of moed]): the sun knoweth his going down."

The reasoning is that the moon must determine all moedim. Since the weekly Sabbath is a moed, then the moon must also control when the Sabbath occurs.

While it stands to reason that the annual holy days (moedim) are tied in with the observance of the moon or New moon (chadash), the Scriptural evidence proves conclusively that the Sabbath day is not and cannot be tied to and controlled by New Moon or moon (chadash/yareach) observance. The effort to do so is what causes the real confusion, especially when there would be one or two days of the month which are either declared as non-days or Sabbaths or whatever. Was the manna in the wilderness withheld for this one or two days or did YAHWEH give them manna for three or four days on the sixth day during this time? Absolutely not. The Scriptures are emphatic that the manna was given for six days and simply was not available for the seventh. There is no place given in Scripture wherein it was said that the manna was given for seven or eight days at the end of the monthly cycle in order to compensate for the extra days.

It is always interesting and amazing that so many can be so easily influenced by these "new" doctrines which may seem to be right, but with just a little scriptural study and thought, can be easily proven wrong.

In your question, you state that it confuses you that the new year begins with the new moon of Abib, but the new moon doesn’t begin the weekly cycle also. Why would that confuse you? Does it also confuse you that the creation account begins with the first day, but does not begin with the new moon? If the creation account doesn’t confuse you, then why would it confuse you to begin the weekly cycle apart from the observance of the New Moon? What truly has confused you is that you have received materials which begin to question that which YAHWEH established as orderly in His creation. We admonish you and others to discard these erroneous doctrines of falsehood and believe and follow the Scriptural accounts.

QUESTION: Why is it that if we understand the Son's name to be YAHshua and not Jesus, do we still utilize the term Jew with the "J" just as Judaism is also used. Since the letter "J" came in at a later time frame, why not change those terms also? RW, TX

ANSWER: Some people do make an effort to restore all of the names of Scripture to their original Hebrew structure, but our focus is on the restoration of the Sacred Names to people’s knowledge. Since our language has evolved, it is not our purpose to overthrow all of its changes today. We do know that YAHWEH promises to restore us to a pure lip or language in the future, but we need to be able to communicate with people in today’s world. The first thing that must be done is turn their hearts to the Heavenly FATHER YAHWEH and His Son YAHshua. Therefore, we continue to use Judah, Jew, Jacob, etc., for the present time.

QUESTION: What was YAHshua writing in the dirt in John 8:6, 8? HC, TX.

ANSWER: Scripture doesn’t say. We can only postulate that He may have been writing, "Where is the man?", since the law stated that if a man and a woman were caught in the act of adultery, both were to be stoned to death (Lev. 20:10). The Jews stated that they caught the woman in the very act, but only brought her and not the man to YAHshua. He simply turned the whole thing back on their own heads. If they refused to judge the man caught in the act, then He simply refused to judge the woman. Had both been brought, He would have had to judge according to Scripture.

We have been reporting on the illness of Howard Williams in a couple of issues of the newsletter. Howard developed lymphoma cancer. Howard was a very dear and knowledgeable brother in the faith. We are grievously sad to have to report that Howard died on Sunday, June 10, 2001 at the Christus St. Joseph hospital in Clarksville, Texas.

Howard was born Thursday, March 2, 1939 in Lamar County, Texas. His parents were Robert Howard and Bobbie Moore Williams (both deceased). Howard was a fourth generation farmer on the Williams’ home place in Red River County, Texas.

He married Judith (Judy) Ann Wakefield on September 4, 1959. Their marriage produced three sons, Michael Reed, James Patrick (deceased) and Stephen Allen.

Besides farming and ranching, Howard worked as a maintenance man for fifteen years. He and Judy managed and maintained the Spanish Oaks Apartments in Paris, Texas, for the last 8-9 years. There are several plaques on the wall in the community/conference room of the apartments which proclaim the excellence of the apartments due to their hard work and sacrifice.

His funeral was held at the Lindeman Chapel on 6/13/2001 at 2:00 p.m. with Elder Jerry Healan officiating. He was interned at the Leesville Cemetery next to his son James Patrick. Howard is also survived by his older brother Robert and a grand-daughter Rachel Williams. He was 62 years old.

It goes without saying that he will be very sorely missed by his family, but he will also be very sorely missed by the body of YAHshua. He was a true pillar in the congregation and one, who by his very presence, helped strengthen our faith.

He is now awaiting the voice of the arch-angel and the trump of Elohim when the faithful will be raised up in honor, majesty and power to a life immortal and incorruptible.

Bob Saforek of Rockaway Beach (near Branson), Mo., and Flo Wilson of Rocheport, Mo., exchanged Nuptials on June 17, 2001 at the Rocheport Assembly facilities.

We all knew that something was in the wind when Bob began to spend almost every week-end at Rocheport. Bob loves to sing and Flo loves to play the piano, so they first teamed up for special music during Sabbath services. Their first session ended with a dinner date (with the rest of the Wilson family also. The Wilson men and family had to check this guy out, of course). It was a whirlwind romance during which Bob simply swept her off her feet with kindness, flowers, etc. He asked for her hand in marriage and, of course, she accepted. For those who know Branson, Mo., and of all the singing shows in town, there will be no better act or music than that which will ring out from the Saforek household.

It was a very beautiful wedding. Bob arrived at the wedding singing "This is the Day That YAHWEH Has Made." Elder Al Dupus was blessed to be able to perform the service. The couple honeymooned in the Dakotas. We pray for YAHWEH'S blessings upon their union. May they be able to have many good years together. HalleluYah!!!

BIBLE FUND REPORT

We had been receiving so many requests for Sacred Name Bibles that we decided to set up a fund for the distribution of SN Bibles to those who were not able to afford such luxuries. We did so in Jan. of 1999.

To date we have received $1767.00 in donations while we have expended $2374.31 of Bible Fund and Assembly monies along with another $500.00 out of our own personal account. As you can see, we have had to expend $607.31 of regular assembly funds alone.

Of course, some of these monies (especially our own) also went into the production of the New Bible produced by the Assembly of YAHWEH in Eaton Rapids, MI. called "The Word of YAHWEH."

To date, we have been able to distribute 101 of these Bibles (about 25 each, The Word of YAHWEH, the overall preponderance being The Scriptures).

We have received requests from more brothers and sisters who are unable to provide their own Bibles at their own expense.

We presently have 9 (nine) requests for Bibles, especially from men who are incarcerated and have no available funds.

While it is not the purpose of this ministry to plead, ask or beg for funds (we rely on YAHWEH to provide for us), we are humbling ourselves to seek your help in providing these desired Bibles for these brothers. This Bible Fund program is not actually associated with the operation of this ministry. It is a separate fund from the general operating funds for the assembly work.

If you can help we would greatly appreciate it and we know that these men will also. Thanks ever so much and may YAHWEH bless.

THE UNION OF TWO HOUSE CONFERENCE 

The Union of Two House Messianic Congregations will hold its first annual conference Thursday, Aug. 16, 2001 to Sunday, Aug. 19 at Genetti’s Hotel and Convention Center, 77 East Market St., Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

The Conference theme will be: One Israel Knowing hwhy. Registration will begin at 3:00 p.m.—7:00 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 16. The conference festivities will begin at 7:00 p.m. with a call to seek YAHWEH commencing at 7:30 p.m. with a welcome and worship service.

Conference activities will begin at 9:00 a.m. each day and continue until whenever (with lunch and dinner breaks, of course).

There will be ample worship and prayer services along with services and workshops (classes) each day.

There were several blessings that we can count concerning the observance of the Feast of Pentecost which occurred on June 3rd this year. The first blessing was that Elder Jerry Healan had an opportunity to visit with the incarcerated brothers at Tennessee Colony, Texas on the regular Sabbath day (June 2). It is always a tremendous blessing to be able to fellowship with these men as well as very edifying and uplifting. The group there is growing tremendously both in spiritual understanding and fruits and in numbers. Please pray with us that YAHWEH will continue to bless these men with hearts that are completely set on performing YAHWEH'S will.

The second blessing was that we were able to have tremendous fellowship on the day of Pentecost. The Knebergs and Clawsons came from Emory to observe the feast with us. Tony Clawson gave the first message and Jerry Healan gave the second.

Fred and Caren DeAryan also blessed us with a visit on that day coming from Caddo Gap, Arkansas. Although Fred was somewhat hoarse from a cold, it didn’t dampen his spirits and it didn’t keep him from singing song of praise to YAHWEH for special music.

The Kacos family also was here in fellowship along with Sister Mona Perry. All in all, it was a beautiful and meaningful Pentecost observance.

The only negativity was the absence of the Howard Williams family due to the mortal illness that Howard was suffering from. May YAHWEH bless his soul and strengthen his family in the days and years ahead.

The 17th annual Unity Conference will be held at the Assembly of YAHWEH, 7th day facilities in Cisco, Texas, this year. The conference dates are Aug. 3rd, 4th, and 5th. The Assembly facilities are located ten miles south of Cisco, Texas, on US Hwy 183.

And this teen pop diva knows it. Of course, THAT is precisely why it makes some things in life so difficult. Britney has long said she is a virgin and will remain one until she is married. She may be rethinking that. Or not. It's hard to tell. But she did have this to say about sex and relationships in the June 4 issue of Us Weekly magazine: "I just want to live my life." She refuses to discuss the intimate details of her romance with 20-year-old Justin Timberlake of 'NSYNC--about which the gossip mongers love to speculate. "Have we had sex? That's something that, you know, I'd like to keep personal. I want to try to keep a personal life," she says. "I want to wait to have sex until I'm married. I do. I want to wait." Then she pauses and adds, "But it's hard."

Yes, Britney and all of the young people, there will always be pressure, not only from the outside world, but from within our own flesh, to go ahead and do what feels good and seems to be the thing to do.

Virginity is a virtue, but virtue is something that is frowned upon in today’s world. However, let’s put it in its proper perspective. Do you go to the store to purchase secondhand clothing? Do you like secondhand clothing, shoes, homes, automobiles, etc.? While there are secondhand shops around, the biggest majority of shopping centers and retail outlets deal with that which is new and unused.

While many people’s financial condition may force them to go the secondhand route, you can be assured that most everyone will purchase that which is new if they can afford it.

That’s what you are when you are a virgin! You are not secondhand; you are new and unused! You are special!

I have known many guys in my former life who were extremely sexually active. They were always looking for the girl who was willing to go all the way. But do you think that they would marry those girls? NO WAY! So many of them never settled down until they found the girl who had never had sex and wouldn’t until marriage. As soon as they found that girl, they began to think of marriage.

While they had so-called fun with the promiscuous girls, they really had no respect for them. They wouldn’t settle down with them in marriage because they were spoiled goods and besides, they couldn’t trust them to remain faithful in marriage. (Or so they thought, anyway.)

Your Creator YAHWEH also loves new and unused things. In other words, He loves virginity. The 144,000 given to YAHshua will be virgins (Rev. 14:4). He also declares, "Behold I make all things new," Rev. 21:5.

The book of Proverbs is a good place for you to go to learn the wisdom of remaining a virgin. The Scriptures look upon a young woman who has been had as someone who has been defiled. Only marriage to the one who took her virginity can somewhat fix the situation. (Read about Jacob’s daughter Dinah in Gen. 34.)

Don’t defile yourself! Don’t become a used, secondhand product before marriage. Save yourself for yourself, your husband and your children. You will be blessed.

Ruenelle Greene is suffering the latter stages of emphysema.

Brother James Edge slipped and fell on icy steps which dislocated his right shoulder. It has not responded to treatment and his right arm and hand are useless.

Sister Eleanora Edge suffered congestive heart failure in 1990. She has had 3 pacemaker implants and is only able to get around with a cane, a walker or a wheelchair.

Larry and Peggy Brown were in a head-on collision which killed their 6 year old son, Jacob.

Elaine Daniel is suffering from an anurism and stroke. She has begun to respond somewhat, and is now attempting to feed herself.

Marie Dupus suffered a stroke and is confined to a wheel chair due to partial paralysis.

Sister Floy Rynard has recently suffered heart problems.
