OUR PURPOSE AND AIMS: Are to provide fellowship to our members,
to offer other forms of support and information when members have questions
or concerns about travel, immigration, etc.; and to foster Anglo-American
relationships and continue TBPA as a permanent link with our British
heritage. Of course we do all this by enjoying social fellowship and
activities celebrating our British heritage – like dart &
cricket matches, Guy Fawkes Bonfire night, soccer matches, fish &
chips night, Burns night, Family Picnics, the Queen’s birthday
– we are always looking to celebrate and have a laugh over a ‘cuppa
or pint’ together. We offer membership in Branches (local clubs) and Areas (state
designations) in the USA from coast to coast. The Branches meet more
regularly. Areas generally have meetings in the spring and fall when
all the Branches in their Area come together to meet and renew old acquaintances
and make new friends. We do offer a Postal membership for those who cannot travel
to a local Branch because of distance, etc; but want to have TBPA membership
and receive the association’s magazine. Of course, you can form
a Branch right in your hometown if you have 5 people of British “heritage”
(male or female) who would like to start one. We would be all to happy
to help you get started if you are interested in forming your own Branch.
Both TBPA memberships (General & Postal) entitle you to attend any and all TBPA functions including our Biennial National Convention. Our next convention will be in Providence, Rhode Island in 2008. Watch our web site for more details concerning the upcoming convention. These conventions give members and their guests an opportunityto get reacquainted, make new friends and just have fun."
And trust me, we do have fun!!!!
The TOGETHER AGAIN magazine is published 6 times a year for
our members and contains articles pertaining to items of interest about
British news, history, places of interest, recommendations for B &
B’s in the UK, plus a variety of other subjects; and it also keeps
members informed on new happenings in the association at national, area
and branch levels.
On our web site the “Other Sites” page offers links
to a variety of other subjects including local UK newspapers, UK embassies,
the latest news from across the pond; and
food vendors from whom you can order all those sweets and savories we
crave and love. The web site also offers any one a connection via “We’ll
Meet Again” to contact friends and/or relatives who you’ve
lost contact and our Chat Room to post enquires or information and maybe find an email Pen Pal. CHECK THEM OUT!!!!!
