Note...... There are many conflicting dates for Elkannah Myers. The Deal Family History on which much of this page is based says he was born July 13, 1844, and died August 11, 1907. The MARRS Family page (found at: http://www.madridnm.com/marrs/marrs.html) gives his birth date as 12 July 1838 in Morgan City, Indiana and death date/place as 8 August 1908 in Jasper City, Illinois. An online transription of the Myers Family Cemetery in Jasper County, Illinois (found at: ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/il/jasper/cemetery/myers.txt) says he died Aug. 8, 1907, aged 68 years, 25 days. This would put his birth date at July 13, 1845. The U.S. Census of Jasper County, Illinois, gives his age as 40, placing his birth year at about 1840. One more interesting point is that on our MYERS Family Homepage there is an "Elcanny Myers," born about 1838 of whom nothing more is known. Whether this is the same person as this Elkannah Myers is unknown to me). m: June 24, 1875. ^[notes]
