Burp Boy Page

Burp Boy is a humorous super hero character I created as a throw away gag for issue 5 of my comic “Dead Frogs on the Ceiling.” I brought him back in issue 6. Pretty soon several short Burp Boy stories had appeared. They all followed a simple pattern, villain shows up, BB shows up, cartoon violence ensues, and BB wins. When, in 1992, I decided to give BB his own book I knew the stories would need more variety.

First Burp Boy
DF 3 In Burp Boy #1 I used the “can’t fight villain without revealing secret identity” plot. Having an obstacle keeping BB from fighting the villain made a good story. I liked it so much I took it to the extreme in issue 2.
Misc! 31 I used every silly idea I could come up with to keep BB from the villains. It turned out great, but left me without any good ideas for issue 3. Issue 3 wasn’t very good.
DF 8 There might not have been an issue 4 without Jason Marcy. Jay had been in the UFO with me, and he suggested a team-up book with BB and his character, PowerWus. Jay wrote, drew, and published the first part of the story. I wrote, drew, and published the second part as Burp Boy #4.
DF 8 The story also has cameos by characters created by other (at the time) UFO members: Raoul by Nik Dirga, F-Man and Rhino Boy by Denny Stephens, Lady Spectra and Sparky by J. Kevin Carrier, and a (misspelled) mention of Holey Crullers by Troy Hickman.
Done in 2003, this 3D version of an old BB story was my first try at doing a comic in 3D.
