Virtual Portfolios - Thinking Outside the Box!
2002-2003 CTE Creating Excellence Group Project Award Winner!
The Advanced Computer Information Systems students combined the usefulness and requirements of a resume with the possibilities of a web site to produce their "Virtual Portfolios." Learning Front Page is part of the Business Curriculum in VBCPS. Developing a website based on their individual resumes is the type of project that can be used as a viable tool in today's job market or college admissions. When burned to CDs, it is possible to leave their "portfolios" with prospective employers or college admissions officers. The use of a website viewed through any available browser allows for a multimedia type of presentation. The students own personalities and creativity was allowed to shine while they presented facts about themselves, education, personal goals and objectives. Thank you to Barbara Whaley, Business Teacher, for allowing me to work with her and her students on this awesome project!
