Hello and welcome to Dave's Gallery of Railroad Art . Here you can view several examples of his original artwork. David currently lives in Gilbert, Arizona with his wife Kelly and two sons, David and Chase. He, however, was born and bred in the rolling hills of western Pennsylvania. His father, who was an avid railfan himself, spoon fed his sons the love he had for the Pennsylvania Railroad and other local roadnames. David's younger brother Gary, who he turns to for technical assistance from time to time, displays his fondness for the railroad by way of modeling. He is very skilled at building and painting scale models for his own layout along with a large clientele who commissions him to build and paint theirs as well. David attended and graduated from the Ivy School of Professional Art in Pittsburgh, PA. He has won many awards and commissions for his work. A number of his pieces can be found in private collections across the United States. Besides his accomplishments in railroad art, David has also been commissioned by several individuals to paint portraits and landscapes. For the past two decades he has also created artwork for the United States Postal Service. Lobby displays and special envelope designs commemorating either the release of new stamps, historical events or community achievements are just a couple of ways David has performed work for them.
In 2003 the National Railroad Museum will be selling Christmas cards depicting a "winterized" version of David's painting "Smoke & Steam" . For latest information click HERE.
David's work has also been published as cover art for the Pennsylvania Railroad Technical & Historical Society's "Keystone" magazine. A quarterly magazine dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the Pennsylvania Railroad.
