Often times I delved in thought
About our country’s moral aim,
And for closure that I sought---
The answer finally came.
While there in my reclining chair,
Focused in a TV stare,
Suddenly it dawned on me;
That many problems of despair
Are fed from that TV!
In olden days when news came slow
By local press and radio;
Gave people chance to reason through
In quieter times to bear the news,
To understand if false or true--
Instead of TV’s present views.
Now, the world news travels fast,
So confused for us to grasp,
For whom we see all disagree,
Too controlled in their broadcast,
Just too much for folks like me!
For what we hear compounds our fear
With reckless spin and lies they send
As all the experts drone our ear---
Yes, talk TV will do us in!!
