THE MASTER ARTIST
"THE MASTER ARTIST"
There is a Master Artist,
the greatest of them all;
Who painted the canyons
and the mountains tall;
Who painted the crimson
in the sunset's glow,
then captured the brilliance
in a great rainbow!
He mixed up purple
for the morning dawn,
van dyke brown
for the yearling fawn.
He painted in the green
of the whispering pines,
then brushed in their needles
with masterful lines.
He sketched in the oceans
that run so deep,
then painted them with motions
that forever keep.
He shaded in the shadows
in the river's flow,
and painted green fields
where sweet flowers grow.
He painted the sky
with bright prussian blue,
then put in the clouds
with their silver hue.
And then in black
came the dark midnight,
but also the shine
of the bright moonlight.
Then came Jupiter,
Pluto and Mars,
and He rounded out the universe
with twinkling stars.
Now His masterpiece is finished
with a wonderful glow,
and the Artist smiles from heaven,
His studio!
