THE OUTDOORSMAN
THE OUT DOORS MAN
I truly love the great
outdoors,a life I've
always known;
my heart takes wings like an eagle soars
when I hear old nature's tone.
So give me the good old back hill roads,
the rolling meadowlands;
the backwood creeks where the fish abodes,
or the beach with its golden sands.
Or spend the day on Chesapeake Bay
and dream of all that's grand;
just wish the world would go away
and return on my command!
Or go to the busy woodlands free
down deep in the forest glade;
just breathe the air of ecstasy
of the life here God has made.
Just hear the breeze in the tall pine trees,
or listen to the whippoorwill,
or smell the dew on the fallen leaves,
or remains of an old wood mill.
So give me the good old outdoor life,
not that of the busy town;
removed away from the ills of strife,
just buried in the joys I've found!
