"THE UGLY DUCKLING"
When Mom and Dad were married way back in world war 1, they did not plan a family clan, just hankered for one son.
Times were quite depressing then with house and farm to run, and Dad could use a helping hand that comes from siring one.
But fate would deal the players hand, which dealt my folks a "straight", for fourteen years, six girls they reared.. with no son to equate. (and time was getting late!)
'Cause Dad had gotten up in age and Mama, she was tired, and if they don't get what they want, with females they'll be mired!
By then the farm had all run down and diapers all piled up, and daddy's aims had still not changed, he did not have enough.
So they "set sail" to birth a male... to fulfill Daddy's aim; to work the farm, go arm and arm.. to carry on Dad's name.
So now it's 1928 and all are filled with joy, 'cause Mom and Dad have changed the fad, with bouncing baby boy!
Now due to fate Dad has his mate, but yet dissatisfied; 'cause he wants more to tie the score.. their goal is set for five,
this was their aim to start a chain of five more males they sought;
but in the try for that next guy,
a huge surprise was brought;
for in the world came one more girl , that brought a screeching halt!
Well, all in all I'm happy now, but life back then weren't free; 'cause gloom unfurled when all the girls.. kept ganging up on me!
