The 3D Telelvision The 3dtv prop consists of a gutted console tv with
no screen, a stand, motor, and a head of some sort. First thing
to do is make a new screen for your tv. This is done with dark brown
or black spandex. Staple it down to the frame or secure it with
carpenter's tack. Make sure its stretched tight but not too tight.
The stand will have to different for every motor. But the same principle
applies. Mount it so it spins horizontaly. The stand should be towards
the rear of the tv. We mounted a wooden arm to our motor and then
drilled a hole in it. This hole was used to run a bolt through to
loosely connect another arm. The second arm is longer and has the
head or face piece attached at one end. We screwed hooks into that
end as well and attached springs to them and the inside of the tv.
The springs helped keep the head centered and because our arm had
a pivot point the head would push straight out of the screen.
