ADDENDUM [not in the printed book]

The item below was printed in a Stamford, Connecticut, history book and depicts the signature of
Charles A. Weed that was below his picture.   There is a great similarity in comparison with that in the
above-depicted note.  However, the middle stroke on the W is higher, and it is missing the final
flourish.  The published signature also has a more pronounced slant. (from Elijah B. Huntington,
History of Stamford, Connecticut, from its Settlement in 1641, to the Present Time.  Privately
printed, 1868)  Weed did not always write his own letters or personally sign them.  The facial view
of Charles A. Weed is also shown below.
