The item below was printed in a Stamford,
Connecticut, history book and depicts the signature of Charles A. Weed that
was below his picture. There is a great similarity in
comparison with that in the above-depicted note. However, the middle
stroke on the W is higher, and it is missing the final flourish. The
published signature also has a more pronounced slant. (from Elijah B.
