Play dough recipe
1 cup flour 1/2 cup salt 2 teaspoons cream of tarter
1 cup water 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
food coloring and peppermint oil or vanilla extract (or use kool-aid for color and scent)
After choosing items for coloring and scent, mix all the ingredients in a pan. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly. When the dough is stiff, turn it onto a counter or table and knead it until it cools. Store unrefridgerated in an air tight container. It will last for three months.

Homemade glue
combine 1/4 cup of flour with 1/4 cup of milk

Bake and paint clay
4 Cups flour 1 cup salt 1 1/2 cups water
Mix ingredients. Sculptures can be baked at 350 degrees until clay is dry, but not brown. Baking time will vary depending on the size of the sculpture. Let cool before painting.

Bubble recipe
1/2 cup Dawn or Joy dishwashing liquid (brands found to work best
8 cups water
2 Tablespoons glycerin
A pinch of sugar

Homemade paste
1/2 cup flour 1/2 cup white sugar 1/2 cup cold water
1/2 tablespoon powdered alum (can be bought at drug store) 1/2 cup boiling water
combine flour, sugar, alum and cold water. Mix well. Add boiling water. Then heat the ingredients in the top of a double boiler, stirring constantly until thick and clear. Let cool. Store in an air tight container.

Basic Paint recipe
1 Tablespoon sugar 1/2 cup corn starch 3/4 cup cold water
2 cups boiling water food coloring 1 Tablespoon liquid soap
Combine sugar, cornstarch and cold water in sauce pan. Mix well. pour boiling water into mixture, stirring as you pour. Cook over medium heat. Stir constantly until thick and clear. Allow the mixture to cool them divide into separate containers. Add a different color food coloring to each container.

Face Paint recipe
1 1/4 teaspoon corn starch 1/2 teaspoon water 1 1/4 teaspoon cold cream
1 drop food coloring
Mix the cornstarch, water and cold cream together. Use a muffin tin to separate colors. drop food coloring into each muffin cup to add coloring and stir.

Homemade finger paint
1/2 cup flour 2 cups water food coloring
Mix the flour with a little water, stirring out the lumps. when smooth, slowly stir in the rest of the water. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture gets thick and shiny. Pour into jars and stir in food coloring until the paint is bright and the color you want. Let cool.

Soft Clay
1 cup cornstarch 1 cup baking soda 1 1/4 cups cold water
Mix the ingredients together in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly about 5 minutes or until it is very thick- like mashed potatoes. Let cool until ready to handle. Sculpture can be air dried for two days then painted.
