U.S. 25-A  9 miles
The Road: Begins at US 25 and NC 280 Arden and ends at US 25 and NC 81 in Biltmore Forest, all within Buncombe County
Towns and Attractions: Biltmore Forest
History: This US 25-A was born about 1936. It ran as it does today and was a renumbering of what had been solo NC 69 for a couple years (US 25 was moved off of this alignment in 1932). This was first signed as NC 29.
Comment: US 25-A Sweeten Creek Rd is a very minor route now, and could probably be reduced to being part of NC 81 or NC 280.
US 25-A is blown off by the Blue Ridge Parkway and was also blown off by I-40 until the late 1990's.
