Crew! BestBets! What and When. Directions and Accomodations. Remember/Policy
Hi, I'm Capt.Denny Dillon co-owner/operator of
Persuader Sportfishing Charters. I want to share with
you my 33 years experience chasing tuna, bass, fluke and sharks. I retired
from teaching in 1990 and have devoted my efforts to fishing full time during
the season. Persuader Charters is a family owned business and I would like to introduce you
to the various family members who are ready to serve you.
When you call to
book a trip or gather information you might talk to my
lovely wife, Mickey. She will take your call and try her best to book
the day you need and answer any questions you may have concerning your
trip. Her voice sounds as lovely as she looks and she
knows the business!
Capt. Jim Mcwilliams is a co-owner and seasoned member of our crew. Jim has been fishing
many years and loves offshore fishing in particular. His wife Sara
and his three children keep him pretty busy when he's not fishing. We all stand ready to serve you and hope to make your day
on the water a memorable experience. Why not call
soon?
If you are an old customer you might have noticed the new photo of the Persuader. It is a 44 ' Henriques and we love it!
Striped
bass
fishing has been
excellent and
I
see no reason to see
any change! This fishery

starts about the
third week
of May and
should
remain good to
excellent
through early
December! We
have started to use lighter tackle in our bass fishing
during the 2004 season and it
has met with great enthusiasm on the part of our
customers. We will continue using light tackle during this
season. We pride ourselves on creating customers who become our good friends!
Black
sea-bass , scup and
fluke
(summer flounder) fishing
was excellent
during the 2006 season and
2007 should be even better.
These fisheries provide some truly great
light tackle
sport! Light tackle bottom
fishing is a great way to
introduce kids young or old to salt water fishing.
Tautog fishing was excellent last year. Our first Tautog trip for the 2007 season is slated for November 1. The RI limit as of this update is 16" and 10 per man.
Offshore fishing
should start around the third week of June with the first sharks of the season
starting to show. The
spring
run of Mako and blue shark
is a great way to get prepped for tuna fishing. Threshers,
hammerheads and tigers may show as the water
warms. Last year we had some outstanding days with school bluefin
tuna in the 20 to 40 pound
class.
The tuna fishery should start in the third week of July. Wahoo,
yellow-fins, albies
and mahi
(dolphin) should show with the warm water sharks. Bonito
start around August and build into October.
Canyon fishing is an overnight adventure that is perhaps the most exciting of all the fishing you can encounter. The Persuader II is a 44' Henriques sportfisherman that is equipped and designed to do just that. All the great fish mentioned above as well as Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Swordfish and Big Eye Tuna frequent canyon waters. This trip will have you trolling during the peak hours of dusk and dawn, and will have you (us) chunking all night long. You will be fishing prime offshore waters at peak times. This season usually begins in July and carries through October.
Grandpa Denny, aka Capt. Denny and two
really great catches! We pride ourselves on catering to families.
We catch fish and create memories. Why not call today and book a fishing
trip with your family. One
of our popular trips is the combo bass/fluke or
bass/sea-bass trip.
These are great
trips to break kids into salt-water fishing. One half of the day is spent
bass fishing and the second half fluking.
This trip provides action and
interest to
all! Pop can show his stuff with bass
while mom and the kids
can get even with the fluke and sea-bass. Although there have been times when the
opposite has happened! Actually, there was a family where
dad got sea sick and mom and the kids caught everything!!
Block Island Connection
We have been servicing Block Island vacationers for many seasons and will continue to do so this season. We can pick you up on the East Side or West Side of the Island. This flexibility works out quite well and allows us to fish on the lee side when the weather is not fully cooperating.
