1874 Map of Morris & Bethlehem, Connecticut
Below is a map of Morris and Bethlehem, Connecticut showing roads and residences as they were in 1874. The Town of Morris was incorporated in 1859, prior to that it was a part of the Town of Litchfield known as South Farms. The Town of Bethlehem was incorporated in 1787. I have highlighted three Waugh properties in Morris. The orange on present day Curtis Hill Rd. is marked H. Waugh, this may be Harvey Waugh (1828-1886), whose father, Horace died in 1854 or possibly Henry Hamilton Waugh (1819-1892), son of Moses Waugh and Susan Raymond. The pink is marked Grace Waugh, it is on the corner of present day route 109 and Stoddard Road. Not sure who this is, may have been the widow of Samuel W. Waugh (1809-1869), the former Grace Dunning who lived until 1895. The yellow is near Camp Columbia and is marked L. Waugh and most likely was the home of Leverett J. Waugh.(1817-1879)
