Carrel Muller Gueringer

Regional Adviser, SCBWI Louisiana

CARREL MULLER GUERINGER is a librarian, teacher and author.  She is a Pre and Lower School Librarian at the Academy of the Sacred Heart in New Orleans. She teaches a course Writing Children’s Literature at the University of New Orleans Metro College. She is Regional Advisor of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators for the state of Louisiana. She has published both fiction and nonfiction in magazines for adults and children.  Her story “Thornbush,” which appeared in the February, 2000 issue of Cricket magazine, won the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators National Magazine Merit Honor award for fiction. She has been a speaker at many conferences.
