1. James Seward was born about 1721. He died in 1814.

Will of James Seward born ca 1721 in Surry County -

James Seward's will of 4 Jan 1814, proved 22 March 1814. James mentions his sons Albridgeton and John. He also mentions the heirs of his son Carter (but does not name them). This supported by the dates of Carter's will indicates that Carter predeceased his father. James also mentions his daughter Mary Hunnicutt. Albridgeton is appointed executor of the will. At probate dated 22 March 1814, "And on the motion of the said Executor a certificate is granted him for obtaining a probate of the said will, he having taken the oath of the Executor and with Cary Seward his security entered into and acknowledged a bond according to law."

He had the following children:

  4 M iii John Seward.
  5 F iv Mary Seward.

Mary, born about 1760; married under bond dated 15 January 1779, with consent of father James, Hartwell Hunnicutt, son of Augustine Hunnicutt.
