OUR COVER:  The stage is set for great destruction to be wreaked upon this earth. Our studies have discovered that we are in the end days and that the curse brought about by Adam and then Israel and Judah will soon become reality. This has led the focus of this magazine to be upon the various “curses” to destruction that we are bringing upon ourselves. Even the article entitled “Taking His Name In Vain” reveals that idolatrous inclinations that all peoples of the earth have brought upon themselves. We are near the end. Soon there will be great upheavals that will take place. They are already here in the nature of mankind, but physical upheavals will begin to raise their heads in greater and greater detail. May Yahweh rescue us from all ills.

The Prophet Ezekiel was commanded to declare, "Also, thou son of man, thus saith the Sovereign Yahweh unto the land of Israel; An end, the end is come upon the four corners of the land. Now is the end come upon thee, and I will send mine anger upon thee, and will judge thee according to thy ways, and will recompense upon thee all thine abominations. And mine eye shall not spare thee, neither will I have pity: but I will recompense thy ways upon thee, and thine abominations shall be in the midst of thee: and ye shall know that I am Yahweh. Thus saith the Sovereign Yahweh; An evil, an only evil, behold, is come. An end is come, the end is come: it watcheth for thee; behold, it is come. The morning is come unto thee, O thou that dwellest in the land: the time is come, the day of trouble is near, and not the sounding again of the mountains. Now will I shortly pour out my fury upon thee, and accomplish mine anger upon thee: and I will judge thee according to thy ways, and will recompense thee for all thine abominations. And mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: I will recompense thee according to thy ways and thine abominations that are in the midst of thee; and ye shall know that I am Yahweh that smiteth. Behold the day, behold, it is come: the morning is gone forth; the rod hath blossomed, pride hath budded. Violence (Heb. = chamas or hamas) is risen up into a rod of wickedness: none of them shall remain, nor of their multitude, nor of any of theirs: neither shall there be wailing for them. The time is come, the day draweth near: let not the buyer rejoice, nor the seller mourn: for wrath is upon all the multitude thereof," Ez. 7:2-14.

I never planned for the focus of this magazine to be on the curse that is coming on the earth, but here it is. When I learned that the Hebrew word for "curse" is "Alah," a new door of understanding was opened. Not only had I discovered this and written the article about this curse, which appears on page 7, but Brick Parrish had also discovered this fact and had written a corresponding article on it (see page 13).

I have understood for some years now that utilizing the term "god/God" for the Creator Yahweh was a word that actually makes Him into the image of an ox, bull, or calf. I have finally written and included in this magazine the article entitled "Taking His Name In Vain," which reveals this fact. (p. 14) You may have to read this article more than once and even study it in-depth to understand what is written as some have indicated that it is rather difficult to understand, but then Yahweh’s word is written so that not everyone can truly understand it and Yahshua came speaking to a generation who didn’t understand what He was doing or saying; so if you have problems understanding it, please pray about it and ask for understanding.

I have also just come across a web-site that reveals the Satanic and demonic influences on rock musicians and their music. Yahweh had inspired Moses to prophesy that Israel would fall away to the worship of devils, demons or goat gods, "But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered with fatness; then he forsook Elohim which made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation. They provoked him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations provoked they him to anger. They sacrificed unto devils, not to Eloah; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not. Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten Elohim that formed thee. And when Yahweh saw it, he abhorred them, because of the provoking of his sons, and of his daughters. And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith. They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not Elohim; they have provoked me to anger with their vanities: and I will move them to jealousy with those which are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation. For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains. I will heap mischiefs upon them; I will spend mine arrows upon them," Dt. 32:15-23.

Islam worships Allah. I have shown in the "curse" article that even though in Arabic the term means "The God," in Hebrew it means "The Curse." They are worshipping a curse to destruction. The Satanic musicians of our day are worshipping and serving Satanic destruction. One very well known rock musician is so troubled by demons that he loves to go sit in graveyards because it is so serene, so peaceful and he even admits that there is a smell there that is sweet to him.

Islam gets special privileges in prison and also in the free world. Their religion can even be taught and acted out in our schools even though any reference to or prayer to the Elohim of the Holy Scriptures is forbidden and reacted to with horror, anger and hostility. Our own Supreme Court forbids prayer and the Holy Scriptures in the schools.

Yahweh knew that His own people would turn away from Him. It is prophesied time, and time, and time, and time again in the Scriptures. We are now beginning to see the evidence of that forsaking. If we forsake Him, He will forsake us. But thankfully, He won’t forsake us forever. Yes, as an angry husband and parent, He will correct His children and that correction may seem to be quite harsh, but once He gets our attention and grants us repentance, He will turn His hand to heal us. We who publish this magazine have a tremendous responsibility because we must not only reveal the wondrous plan of mercy that He grants to us through Yahshua the Messiah, but we must also reveal the dangers that we face walking in a world of deception and unbelief.  JH

ISAAC’S PROPHETIC BLESSING

   When Rebekah (Esau’s and Jacob’s mother) heard Isaac tell Esau to bring him some of the savory venison that he loved to eat so that he could bless him, she and Jacob schemed so that Jacob could receive that blessing instead. When Esau came in with the food that he had prepared, both he and His father Isaac learned that Jacob had come and received the blessing instead. Esau pleaded, “And Esau said unto his father, Hast thou but one blessing, my father? bless me, even me also, O my father. And Esau lifted up his voice, and wept. And Isaac his father answered and said unto him, Behold, thy dwelling shall be the fatness of the earth, and of the dew of heaven from above; And by thy sword shalt thou live, and shalt serve thy brother; and it shall come to pass when thou shalt have the dominion, that thou shalt break his yoke from off thy neck,” Gen. 27:38-40.

  Let’s understand something here. Isaac blessed Jacob with the dew of heaven, the fatness of the earth and plenty of corn and wine. He also blessed him to be a noble before whom the people and nations would bow down to as well as making him sovereign over his own brethren. Isaac even told Esau, “Behold, I have made him thy sovereign, and all his brethren have I given to him for servants; and with corn and wine have I sustained him: and what shall I do now unto thee, my son?” Gen. 27:37.

  The implication is that since Jacob has been blessed with these things, then they can’t also belong to Esau. Therefore, when Isaac blessed Esau saying, “Behold, thy dwelling shall be the fatness of the earth, and of the dew of heaven from above…” (v. 39), he was declaring that he would be away from those things.

  Isaac continued, “And by thy sword shalt thou live, and shalt serve thy brother; and it shall come to pass when thou shalt have the dominion that thou shalt break his yoke from off thy neck,” Gen. 27:40. As long as Israel was a kingdom, and then Israel and Judah were divided kingdoms, they had dominion over Esau. When the Jewish people returned from Babylon/Persia to rebuild the city state, they had dominion over the Edomites.

  The Interlinear Bible interprets “when thou shalt have the dominion” as “when you fight.” When did Esau get the dominion? When did Esau and Israel begin to fight so that Esau received the dominion? Wasn’t it when Rome was converted from a Republican form of government to that of dictatorship under the Caesars? Julius Caesar began to make war against the Celts, Gauls and Goths (Israelites), and to overcome them bringing them under the dominion of Rome. The Israelite descendants were also very fierce warriors, but the Romans had developed military strategies which brought the Israelites under subjection. While some of the various descendants did make a successful fight against Rome, even entering in and conquering the city, they just eventually blended in with the Roman peoples and became subjects of the government.

  Also, once Yahshua had come and offered the acceptable sacrifice, raising up the assembly of believers, then Rome came into the land with her armies, defeated the Jewish remnants and destroyed Jerusalem and her famous temple dedicated to Yahweh.

  Israel’s blending in with the Roman/Edomite government was prophesied in the great image that Nebuchadnezzar was shown in his dream in Daniel chapter two. The legs of the kingdom were represented as iron, but the feet were part of iron and part of clay (Dan. 2:33). The prophet Isaiah declared, “But now, O Yahweh, Thou art our Father; we are the clay, and Thou art our Potter; and we all are the work of Thy hand,” Isa. 64:8. He was decrying the overthrow of Israel and the desolation of Zion, Jerusalem, etc.

THE CONFEDERACY

   Esau (Rome) is confederate with, has made a covenant with the Ishmaelites (descendants of Ishmael who hated Isaac because he was cast out of his father’s Abraham’s house and denied the inheritance of the firstborn son. The religion of Ishmael is Islam.), Moab (probably Iraq), the Hagarenes (Egypt), Gebal (Masons), Ammon (Jordan), Amalek (Russia), Philistines (Palestinians), Tyre (probably Lebanon and Syria, but on the great scale of things is Roman Europe).

  When Psa. 83 says that these peoples have consulted together with one consent. The Hebrew for consulted is “ya’ats” which has to do with resolve or deliberating. Together is translated from “yachad” which means that they are united. “Consent” is translated from “leb,” which is Hebrew for the heart. So they are together, united, alike, with one heart, one intent, one spirit, and that is to entrap, ensnare, overthrow and destroy the habitations of Israel, both nations America and Israel, taking them as their own possession.

  The spirit of Ishmael is Islam and all nations and peoples who adhere to that faith and belief. The spirit of Amalek is Communism, which is a humanistic, socialistic religion based upon false science and atheism. Remember that Amalek attacked Israel in the wilderness because he feared not Elohim.

  Another spirit of Esau is that of corrupted Christianity as is evidenced by Roman Catholicism, Greek Orthodoxy and Russian Orthodoxy, believe it or not. While Protestantism came out of the Roman Catholic Church in protest, they have refused to turn to Scriptural truths, e.g., the seventh day Sabbath, the annual feast days, the commandments, the true names, etc. Therefore, we find that they are more willing to follow after the spirit of Esau, at this point in history, than to repent of their own rebellion. We trust that Yahweh will rectify this rebellious spirit in His own time as is evidenced in the prophecies of Scripture.

 DESTRUCTION FORETOLD

   The prophet Ezekiel reveals that Jerusalem is to suffer a third destruction, “Thou therefore, son of man, prophesy, and smite thine hands together, and let the sword be doubled the third time, the sword of the slain it is the sword of the great men that are slain, which entereth into their privy chambers. I have set the point of the sword against all their gates, that their heart may faint, and their ruins be multiplied: ah! It is made bright, it is wrapped up for the slaughter. Go thee one way or other, either on the right hand, or on the left, whithersoever thy face is set. I will also smite Mine hands together, and I will cause My fury to rest: I Yahweh have said it,” 21:14-17.

  Isn’t it interesting that we have two distinct ways in today’s world? There is the conservative “right,” and the liberal “left.” Generally, the Republicans are the conservative right, while the Democrats are the liberal left. (Notice that I said “generally.”) Did you know that the governmental style of the Greeks was Democracy, while the governmental style of the Romans was Republican? Daniel prophesied that the Greek kingdom would be a kingdom of brass, while the kingdom of Rome would be a kingdom of Iron. These metals reveal a spiritual nature of these kingdoms. Did you know that Yahweh warned Israel that if they didn’t obey Him, He would turn their heaven to brass and earth to iron? In other cases He warned that He would turn their heaven to iron and their earth to brass. (Dt. 28:21-24; Lev. 26:15-20)

  This has been accomplished and is being fulfilled today! We will soon be running an article in our magazine entitled “The Iron Furnace,” which will explain it all.

 END-TIME PROPHESIES

   The return of Judah to the land is prophesied to take place, but most of the Jewish peoples who understand what the Scriptures say do understand that the real return will be under the powerful hand of Yahweh. There are many Jewish peoples in today’s world who resist taking part with the modern day nation of Israel because they understand that the formation of the nation named Israel is purely of Masonic background. Go to the library, get the Encyclopedia Judaica and look up the word Zionism. You will find that the ones who concocted the modern-day movement to return the Jewish people to the land of Canaan weren’t even believers in Scripture and didn’t care anything about Yahweh’s word at all. As a matter of fact, you will find that the ones who did believe in and understand the Scriptures separated themselves from the political Zionist movement. There are several Jewish groups in today’s world who take a stand against the political Zionist government. Just look up “Jews Against Zionism” on the internet.

  Yahweh warned that in the latter days, Jacob’s iniquity will come to an end (Ez. 35:5). Jeremiah prophesies, “And these are the words that Yahweh spake concerning Israel and concern ing Judah. For thus saith Yahweh; We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace. Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child? wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness? Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it,” Jer. 30:4-7.

  Obadiah decrees concerning Esau and his hatred for Jacob, “For thy violence against thy brother Jacob shame shall cover thee, and thou shalt be cut off for ever. In the day that thou stoodest on the other side, in the day that the strangers carried away captive his forces, and foreigners entered into his gates, and cast lots upon Jerusalem, even thou wast as one of them. But thou shouldest not have looked on the day of thy brother in the day that he became a stranger; neither shouldest thou have rejoiced over the children of Judah in the day of their destruction; neither shouldest thou have spoken proudly in the day of distress. Thou shouldest not have entered into the gate of my people in the day of their calamity; yea, thou shouldest not have looked on their affliction in the day of their calamity, nor have laid hands on their substance in the day of their calamity; Neither shouldest thou have stood in the crossway, to cut off those of his that did escape; neither shouldest thou have delivered up those of his that did remain in the day of distress,” vv. 10-14.

 TERROR

   Yahweh prophesied against Israel, “But if ye will not hearken unto me, and will not do all these commandments; And if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant: I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it,” Lev. 26:14-16.

  The Hebrew word for “terror” is “behalah.” Another Hebrew word for “terror” is “ballahah.” It is defined as, alarm, destruction, terror and trouble. Since Hebrew is the language of revelation, and we find that many of the things in this world are identified by Hebrew words, as we did for Russia, Esau, Edom, etc., for instance, we can possibly associate some of the modern-day enemies of Israel and America with Hebrew words.

  One of the Palestinian organizations that has been raised up in these last days, which is dedicated to the violent overthrow of Israel is named “Hamas.” The Hebrew word associated with this organization is “chamac” (pronounced as “khaw – mas” or even “haw – mas”). David is inspired to cry out, “Deliver me, O Yahweh, from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man (chamac/hamas),” Psa. 140:1.

  Is it possible that the last part of the name “Hezbollah” (bollah) comes from the Hebrew words “behalah” and/or “ballahah?” What would the name mean then? “Bollah,” of course, would be easy to figure out. It means “terror, alarm or destruction.” The Hez part of the name can also be found in the Hebrew. The English letter “h” is equivalent to the Hebrew letter h (hey). Generally, when this letter is added to the beginning of a word, it means “the,” “lo,” or “behold.”

  The “ez” part of the word can also be translated into the Hebrew word “z[” (ez or az). This Hebrew word is defined as, strong, vehement, harsh, etc.

  Thus Hezbollah, in Hebrew, would mean “the strong terror,” or “the vehement destruction,” or “the strong destruction,” etc., etc.

 OMINOUS NEWS

      While both sides are proclaiming victory concerning the outcome of the conflict between Israel (Judah) and Hezbollah, the simple fact of the matter is that Israel did not accomplish her goal of obliterating Hezbollah, while Hezbollah did withstand Israel’s attacks and was left armed and fairly intact. Their stand has served to unite the Arab Islamic world against both Israel and America.

  The news reports have shown the Lebanese army entering into the disputed southern territory of Lebanon as well as some of the UN Forces. However, where the UN is concerned, they are only allowed to utilize their weapons in their own self-defense. They will not have the power to restrain Hezbollah from rebuilding the area destroyed and also rearming themselves. If they can only utilize their weapons in their own self-defense, then how can they resist Hezbollah and keep them from re-fortifying and re-arming?  Also, the Lebanese army is sympathetic with Hezbollah, so the deck is stacked against Israel. While Hezbollah did take quite a beating, the essential fact is after over a month of fighting they are still left somewhat intact and they have won a great psychological advantage.

  NEWS FROM ROME 

   One other news item that should be alarming to all of those who believe in, follow after, and have Scriptural understanding is the news from Rome, dated 7/26/06. There has been a conference in Rome chaired by Italian foreign minister Massimo d'Alema, which has expressed desires to place yet another UN force in the area in order to maintain security. How ludicrous! The UN has already had a peace keeping force there which turned its head while Hezbollah made their preparations for war against Israel.

  This author has continually warned that it will most likely be a force comprised of UN soldiers that will surround Jerusalem and Israel in the last days, which will usher in the long awaited intervention of Yahweh by sending His Son Yahshua to take over the kingdoms of this world as King of kings and Sovereign of sovereigns (Lord of lords for those who insist on such terms).

  Zechariah was inspired to declare, “Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it. In that day, saith Yahweh, I will smite every horse with astonishment, and his rider with madness: and I will open mine eyes upon the house of Judah, and will smite every horse of the people with blindness,” Zech. 12:2-4.

  I have emboldened the term “all the people” because these words are significant. “People” is translated from the Hebrew word “goyim” which is translated elsewhere as Gentiles, nations, etc. The term “all” is translated from the Hebrew word “kol.” The Hebrew term is “kol goyim.” There is one and only one entity that supposedly represents all of the nations of the earth or world. That entity or organization is the “UNITED NATIONS!” The word “united” has to do with “all” of the nations. Thus, when control of that area is given over to the United Nations, the rest of this prophecy will be fulfilled.

  We may not know exactly when the end-time events will begin to unfold dramatically, but the stage is set for things to heat up even more dramatically in the near future. When these things begin to come to pass, know that it is near, even at the door.

As Moses reminded the children of Israel that Yahweh had delivered them from bondage in Egypt, leading them through the wilderness for 40 years and all the mighty acts He did, he spoke to them of another covenant besides the one Yahweh made with them 40 years earlier at Sinai. This one was dealing with their inheritance of the land of Palestine. It included all the things of the previous covenant plus the land they were being given. However, there are stern warnings attached if they failed to keep the stipulations of the covenant. The Palestinian covenant was unconditional in that Yahweh would not rescind it even though there were severe consequences for those who broke it.

  Deu 29:9  Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all that ye do.

They were cautioned to heed the words of the covenant and do them so that their ways might prosper.

  Deu 29:10  Ye stand this day all of you before Yahweh your Elohim; your captains of your tribes, your elders, and your officers, with all the men of Israel,

Deu 29:11  Your little ones, your wives, and thy stranger that is in thy camp, from the hewer of thy wood unto the drawer of thy water:

Deu 29:12  That thou shouldest enter into covenant with Yahweh thy Elohim, and into his CURSE, which Yahweh thy Elohim maketh with thee this day:

All translations have “oath” where I have translated it “curse”. The Hebrew word here is “Alah” and is translated “Curse” in verses 19 and 20 below. Along with this covenant and it’s blessings for keeping it, comes a curse for breaking it. I won’t be dogmatic about translating this word as curse here, but the rest of the chapter and the next speak about calling heaven and earth to witness against Israel what would happen to them if they did not keep this renewed covenant.

  Deu 29:13  That he may establish thee to day for a people unto himself, and that he may be unto thee an Elohim, as he hath said unto thee, and as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.

  Deu 29:14  Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this CURSE;

  Deu 29:15  But with him that standeth here with us this day before Yahweh our Elohim, and also with him that is not here with us this day:

The choice of the covenant or the curse is also for us that were not present on that day. It is also for future generations too.

  Deu 29:16  (For ye know how we have dwelt in the land of Egypt; and how we came through the nations which ye passed by;

  Deu 29:17  And ye have seen their abominations, and their idols, wood and stone, silver and gold, which were among them:)

  Deu 29:18  Lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from Yahweh our Elohim, to go and serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood;

We are not to adopt the ways of the nations around us and turn to their pagan gods lest we bring the curses upon ourselves.  “Wormwood” here means “to curse”.  (Strongs # 3939) la‛ănâh; lah-an-aw'; From an unused root supposed to mean to curse; wormwood (regarded as poisonous, and therefore accursed): - hemlock, wormwood.

  Deu 29:19  And it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the imagination of mine heart, to add drunkenness to thirst:

This is the same Hebrew word “Alah” translated “oath” in verses 12 and 14 above. Here it is rendered as originally translated, “curse” and also in the next 2 verses.

  Deu 29:20  Yahweh will not spare him, but then the anger of Yahweh and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and Yahweh shall blot out his name from under heaven.

  Deu 29:21  And Yahweh shall separate him unto evil out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant that are written in this book of the law:

We know that Israel broke this covenant and were scattered into all the nations and the land fell into desolation, especially after the destruction by the Romans. But, there was a promise in Deut 30:3 that Yahweh would re-gather them from all the nations where He had scattered them if they would turn to Him with all their hearts.  Yahweh is setting the stage for this re-gathering today.

  As Daniel prayed in Dan 9 and confessed the sins of Israel and Judah, the angel Gabriel appeared to him and spoke to him of the 70 weeks that were determined upon his people. Most of the 70 weeks have been fulfilled culminating with the advent of the Messiah and his 3 ½ year ministry. But, there still remains 3 1/3 years of the 70 week prophecy which will be for the tribulation to punish and provoke all of Israel to return to Yahweh with all their hearts and to repent.  Because all of Israel has transgressed Yahweh’s laws, the ALLAH is poured out upon us.

  Dan 9:11  Yea, all Israel have transgressed thy law, even by departing, that they might not obey thy voice; therefore the “Alah” is poured upon us, and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of Elohim, because we have sinned against him.

The word “Alah” above is left un-translated and is as it appears in the original scriptures. Could this be the reason for the rise of Islam? Yahweh has allowed it as an instrument to chastise Israel and Judah to repent and return to Him and the Torah. As we approach the tribulation period, the time of Jacob’s trouble, we see a tremendous surge in the expansion and militancy of Islam. The crux of the problem is the land issue. Who does the land belong to? The Moslems claim that it belongs to them by birthright and Yahweh says in His word that He gave the land to Israel as an eternal inheritance via the Palestinian covenant. The final showdown is near. Do we dare force the nation of Israel to trade land for peace? Have we brought the curse or Allah upon ourselves?  

What does it mean to take Yahweh’s name in vain? Since the Hebrew language is the language of revelation, a look at the Hebrew words and their definitions will reveal much to us concerning this topic. “Vain” is translated from the Hebrew word shav. It is number 7723 in Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance and is defined as; from the same as 7722 in the sense of desolating; evil (as destructive), literally (ruin) or morally (especially guile); figuratively idolatry (as false, subjective), uselessness (as deceptive, objective; also adverbially, in vain).

  Let’s also go to the word from which shav is taken. It is #7722 show, which is defined as; from an unused root meaning to rush over; a tempest; by implication, devastation.

  From this examination, we can begin to understand why a person will want to “damn” someone or something utilizing the Creator’s name. To “damn” something or someone means to curse them to destruction. When someone utilizes what he thinks is the Creator’s name to curse something or someone to destruction, it actually means that they are utilizing the power of the name of the Creator to destroy that thing or person. While a person may not be truly utilizing the Creator’s name in their curse, they think that they are, thus, as a man thinks, so is he. There are grave consequences for doing such things.

  But shav is utilized in other places in the Scriptures that is quite revealing, “I have hated them that regard lying (shav) vanities (hebel): but I trust in Yahweh,” Psa. 31:6. “Neither shalt thou bear false (shav) witness against thy neighbour,” Dt. 5:20.

  In both of these instances, shav is translated as a lie or falsehood. Furthermore, the Prophet Isaiah is inspired to declare, “Behold, Yahweh’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your Elohim, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness. None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies (shav); they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity,” 59:1-4.

  Once again, the diversity of the word shav is revealed. The commandment forbids us to take His name in vain (shav). The use of this word in Exodus 20:7 can also mean that we must not take His name and apply it to lying, lies, falsehood, etc. But it can also be forbidding us from replacing it with another name or term, which would then be a false name, a lie.

  TO TAKE

   The Hebrew word for “take” is nasa. It is defined as; a primitive root; to lift, in a great variety of applications, literal and figurative, absolute and religious. When the Scriptures speak of someone lifting up their eyes to see something, the word nasa is utilized. They would also lift up the head, the hands (in worship), a sword (to wage war), etc. When the Levites would carry or bear the ark, the word nasa was utilized.

  Those who have been called and chosen as the firstfruits, have been sealed in their forehead. (Rev. 7:3)

Rev. 14:1 reveals that they have had the name of the Heavenly Father written in their foreheads. Therefore, they are lifting up (nasa), carrying (nasa) and bearing (nasa) His name.  This was one of the main purposes of Israel. They were to bring respect, honor, glory and dignity to the Heavenly Father’s name by obeying Him and His commandments.

  It is decreed, “They made a calf in Horeb, and worshipped the molten image. Thus they changed their glory into the similitude of an ox that eateth grass. They forgat Elohim their saviour, which had done great things in Egypt; Wondrous works in the land of Ham, and terrible things by the Red sea,” Psa. 106:19-22.

  Understand this, Yahweh was “their glory.” They made the molten image in the wilderness and named it Yahweh. “And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us elohim, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him. And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me. And all the people brake off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron. And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy elohim, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. And when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it; and Aaron made proclamation, and said, To morrow is a feast to Yahweh,” Ex. 32:1-5.

  Yahweh is the One Who brought Israel out of Egypt. Aaron and the Israelites were making Yahweh into the image of an ox. This produces the effect of blaspheming Yahweh and His name turning His glory into shame as the Psalmist decrees, “Hear me when I call, O Elohim of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer. O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? how long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing? Selah. But know that Yahweh hath set apart him that is pious for himself: Yahweh will hear when I call unto him. Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah. Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in Yahweh. There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? Yahweh, lift thou up (nasa) the light of thy countenance upon us,” Psa. 4:1-6.

  Here is that word nasa again. The Psalmist is requesting Yahweh to lift up His countenance upon them (those who are righteous in Yahweh [vs. 1]). Israel turned Yahweh’s glory into shame by turning to vain idolatry. They took His name in vain because they applied it to an idolatrous image.

  TRACING MODERNDAY IDOLATRY

   The Prophet Jeremiah proclaimed, “Hear ye the word of Yahweh, O house of Jacob, and all the families of the house of Israel: Thus saith Yahweh, What iniquity have your fathers found in me, that they are gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and are become vain? Neither said they, Where is Yawheh that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, that led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought, and of the shadow of death, through a land that no man passed through, and where no man dwelt? And I brought you into a plentiful country, to eat the fruit thereof and the goodness thereof; but when ye entered, ye defiled my land, and made mine heritage an abomination. The priests said not, Where is Yawheh? And they that handle the law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit. Wherefore I will yet plead with you, saith Yahweh, and with your children's children will I plead. For pass over the isles of Chittim, and see; and send unto Kedar, and consider diligently, and see if there be such a thing. Hath a nation changed their elohim, which are yet no elohim? But my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit. Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, saith Yahweh. For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water,” Jer. 2:4-13.

  It is interesting that the Oxford English Dictionary reveals that the English word “God” comes from two Aryan root words, both being gheu. In “The Roots Of English” Robert Claiborne reveals that gheu-1 comes from the Latin word fundere, fus-, which is defined as; to pour, whence the FUNNEL through which you pour things, and the FOUNDRY in which FUSED (molten) metal is poured into molds. Figurative uses include CONFUSE (“pour together”), DIFFUSE (“pour apart”), PROFUSE (“pouring forth”), TRANSFUSE (“pour across”), and REFUND (“pour back”), To REFUSE is an other kind of “pouring back” – though some derive the word from a different root. A more remote Latin relative is futilis, easily emptied, leaky; pouring water into a leaky vessel is FUTILE.

  Do you begin to get the point? The English word “God” is associated with a FOUNDER! It has to do with a MOLTEN IMAGE! It is associated with a more remote Latin word futilis from which we get another English word FUTILE! Futile and vain are synonyms! It also has to do with pouring water into a LEAKY VESSEL, which is what Israel did when they rejected Yahweh and descended into the vanity (futility) of idolatry!

  Jeremiah decrees, “Every man is brutish in his knowledge: every founder is confounded by the graven image: for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them. They are vanity, and the work of errors: in the time of their visitation they shall perish,” Jer. 10:14-15.

  The English words “foundry/founder and confound/confounder are derivatives of the root  word gheu-1! To confound also means to confuse (also related to gheu-1). A molten image is falsehood and therefore a lie. Lies confuse and destroy.

  The knowledge of man is absolutely brutish. In Old Testament times, men cut trees, shaped them into images, overlaid them with gold and silver and fell down and worshipped them. The Israelites made calves out of pure gold and fell down and worshipped them, the works of men’s hands. This is brutish.

  But Yahshua came to infuse His followers with the Holy Spirit beginning a new era, a new age. This was called the New Testament age. Under the New Testament certain things were changed. Animal sacrifices were changed to spiritual sacrifices, “Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to Elohim by Yahshua the Messiah,” 1 Pet. 2:5.

  The physical temple was destroyed because, as it says, Yahshua’s disciples are built up a spiritual house. However, the history of those who follow Yahshua, the seven assemblies of Revelation chapters 1-3, is revealed in those same chapters. They lose their first love, are persecuted and slain, begin to dwell where Satan’s throne is, allow a Jezebel to enter into the body and cause His own servants to eat things sacrificed to idols. They have a name as if they are alive, but are dead. They think that they are abounding because they are rich and increased with goods, but Yahshua says that they are blind, poor (spiritually) and naked!

  NAKED!!! That’s exactly what happened with the Israelites when they danced around the golden calf, worshipping it as Yahweh their Elohim Who delivered them from Egypt. (Ex. 32:25). Nakedness has to do with idolatry! The final assembly addressed in Rev. 3 is naked! They are practicing idolatry, dancing around a golden calf. Not a physical golden image, but an image made to be spiritual through the very word GOD! I know that this is very hard to believe, but it is the truth.

  The second root word for God, gheu (h) is defined as; to call, invoke, whence the Gc GOD one invokes, and GIDDY – a word much weakened from its original sense, “possessed by a god, insane.”

 EYE-OPENING RESEARCH

   Evangelist Garner Ted Armstrong wrote a booklet entitled “What Is God’s Name” in 1992. On page 6 he wrote, “Take, for example, our English word “God.” Where did it come from? The Encyclopedia Britannica, eleventh edition, says, “God. The common Teutonic word for a personal object of worship…The word ‘God’ [German “Gott” from “Guth,” which was related to Taurus, the Bull] on the conversion of the Teutonic races to Christianity, was adopted as the name of the one Supreme Being, the Creator of the universe… ‘God’ is a word common to all Teutonic languages. In Gothic it is Guth; Dutch has the same form as English; Danish and Swedish have Gud, German Gott. According to the New English Dictionary, the original may be found in two Aryan roots, both of the form gheu, one of which means ‘to invoke,’ the other ‘to pour’, the last is used of sacrificial offerings. The word would thus mean the object either of religious invocation or of religious worship by sacrifice. It has also been suggested that the word might mean a ‘molten image’ from the sense of pour.’” (Vol. 12: p. 169).”

  He added, “Sure, no modern American or Briton thinks he is using a word which connotes a molten image, or means “to pour,” no matter the ultimate Aryan roots of the English word.” (pp. 6-7)

  How true this is! No one thinks that they are addressing a molten image made in the form of a calf or ox. But the book of Revelation says that there is a great serpent called Satan and the devil who has deceived the whole world (Rev. 12:9).

  Sin is the transgression of the law. The penalty of sin is death, but people who have never studied the Bible, who have never seen one, never read it, nor have been taught out of it, don’t understand what sin is. They go about sinning in ignorance, yet they still suffer the consequences of breaking the law because of those sins. Many who are supposedly taught out of the Bible are also ignorant of what sin is.

  Another attempt to justify the word “God” was presented by the Christian Churches of God in Australia, by one Wade Cox. In an article entitled “The Etymology of the Name God” more eye-opening information is found. They write, “Objections to the use of the word God stem from the understanding that the Babylonian deity of fortune was Baal-Gad (pronounced gawd). It is then assumed that the term is pagan if the word God is used.

  “The term God in the ancient Anglo-Saxon comes from the word Goode, or Goot as in the Dutch and German. The word is actually a Hebrew word from which gad itself in the sense of SHD 1410 is derived. The word is SHD 1464 Guwd (pronounced goode). The tribes of Israel, when taken into captivity, took with them this name. It was used also by the Assyrians who captured them. It is a prime root meaning to crowd upon or attack and this means to invade or to overcome. It is this sense of overcoming, as God is the centre of power, that the term is used. Guwd or Goode is not the same as gad or Baal-Gad worshipped by the Babylonians. One is a perversion of the concepts of the other.

  “The word God is derived from the old Teutonic form gudo which meant that which is invoked (or worshipped) by sacrifice (cf. Oxford English Universal Dictionary, art. God, p. 808). This was adapted among the Teutonic tribes in the variant forms.
